Regal

Alexandra,
If we are legal NV shoppers (with a work card) which of the 5 NV licensed MSCs should we access to see your shops, please?

I thank everyone for their concern, it is very much appreciated. Regal Hospitality is aware of the laws in Nevada and we have taken the appropriate measures for our shops there. Thank you.

Hi Alexandra, could you please explain further? What kind of measures has Regal taken for Nevada shops?
This may be one of those things that they consider to be between them and the person who chooses to accept the assignment.

But how can we apply their assignments if they do not say where they are? Oh, I guess by signing up with all 5 of the MSCs that have NV PILB licenses. Duh!

Where what are? The job board says exactly where the assignments are.

On a technicality, that's actually asking for her to reveal the client (Regal) and the MSC in the same thread....

It's my understanding that in NV shoppers should go through the job board of whatever NV MSC handles the shops, not the original MSC. What wales is asking is which NV MSC job board do the shops show up on as they are supposed to be there and not on the Regal site. But I could be wrong, I'm no expert.

As a whol·ly-owned representative of Regal Hospitality, I believe Alex reserves the right to do just that.

Having never had to deal with this sort of thing before, if the process requires that Regal contract with a local licensed firm, then as soon as someone inquires about the location on the Regal site, they will send that shopper over to the licensed firm. If that's the case, then they're simply marketing their own job on behalf of the licensed firm.

I know other MSCs have listed their shops on job boards and still do. I believe the scheduling is done by the PI firms through their site.

I also believe there are more than 5 PI firms registered in NV. There may be only 5 that are bona fide MSC's, but other PI firms can hire and pay shoppers. I know one company in particular that works this way....
Steve, in the context of this discussion I have always meant MSC's that are licensed as PIs in NV.

@walesmaven, understood. I'm just saying that other MSC's choose to not give money to their competitors and may utilize independent PI's in Vegas. There are more than 5 options for outside MSCs to utilize, so your question might not be relevant, and Regal might not want to divulge to the public who they are working with.
Adding; I think there is a great deal of misunderstanding about the MSing laws in NV, even by registered shoppers and MSCs. I would suggest that anyone who has concerns about it take the time to read the law carefully, and not to exclusively trust advice from MSC's, the PILB staff or anything read on the internet...including here.

It's not that there are 5 MSC's which are licensed to do business in NV. All shops must be performed by shoppers that are employees of a firm that has a NV PI license and is overseeing the shops. Five MSCs employ PI's in Nevada, but there are more than 5 PI firms there, and MSC's have the ability to utilize other firms as I understand it.

In the past, I was employed by PI firms that operated outside of NV and the law was somewhat recently redefined to include only NV based firms. That made shopping in NV less interesting and less profitable for me, and I elected to let my license expire.
Steve has laid out exactly what my understanding of the NV situation is. I have insufficiently considered the possibility of using a non-MSC PI firm in NV to channel their shops. It seems to me that in order to make that cost effective, they must either have a ton of NV shops or very, very few. Or am I missing something (once again)?

Nope. You nailed it!

If you have a few shops annually and don't want other MSC's to have access to your scheduling board or clients, alternate PI firm makes a good solution....

I think most of the shoppers that would be available would also probably be in the PILB system already as well, so they just need to added as a registered employee by the PI firm.
