Taking a much-needed break

I've been shopping for around 7 years. Occasionally I'll get burned out and take a week or two off to recharge. This usually happens when schedule too many shops. This time, I am completely burned out yet I haven't scheduled many shops. I hate to admit it, but that stupid editor from ACL who sent 5 emails about the server's uniform is the straw that broke the camel's back. It really made me think. I did all that work, and submitted all those photos, and went into such detail and it was only for reimbursement. I suppose part of it was my fault for even taking a reimbursement-only shop, but nonetheless I'm just done for now. I'm thankful that this wasn't a fulltime job for me. I've seen so many changes over the years...good shops disappear, fees diminish, ridiculous guidelines...I guess I just need a longer break than a week or two sad smiley

It happens, can you take a month off? Or maybe change the shops up a bit? Stay away from the ones that are causing you the most grief.

I have spent hours on a shop before that paid almost nothing. Try not to think too much about it, but don't take it again.

I hope it gets better.
I know the feeling. I do all my visits on the weekend and felt that it was work on weekdays and work on weekends. I came down with a flu last Friday and decided to cancel all my visits. Took a lot of rest during the weekend and decided to take shops that are not very demanding and pay well.
That's how I feel. Especially when a new scheduler takes over the shops and completely ignores me when I've been doing those shops perfectly for years. They have no respect for how this impacts us. When this happens, I just start working more with a different company and then eventually it comes back.
I am experiencing some burn out too. I have a full time job and was shopping almost every evening and weekends. Fortunately, I don't have to depend on my part time income too much. How do full time shoppers handle burnout? I have not scheduled anything this month and will resume in October.
Take some mindless, simple assignments. Alta 360 has some easy convenience store shops in my area. Not sure if they have then where you are, but it's worth a look. Since they can all be submitted on a phone app there is no reporting time when I get home and I could sleepwalk and do them they are so easy (though I have to wake up to drive to the next location, LOL). Stay away from the reimbursement only shops for awhile and just do easy ones to get yourself back in the groove. IPSOS has some easy shops that can also be submitted on an app (the same app as Alta 360's since they both use the Shop Metrics Platform. Also, if you are not working another job, consider merchandising. It's got very flexible hours and I find the work interesting.
