Market Force "overlapping shop times" warning

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet on this thread, but I was warned about overlapping shop times a few years ago when I did three mall shops back to back. For instance, I left one store at 6:48pm and entered the next mall location at 6:53pm. MF said that I needed at least 20 minutes between shop times to make my notes. I was paid in the end, but they did not care that the shops were literally in the same area of the mall (almost side by side).

Twenty minutes? A few years back the minimum was five minutes. They really don't want shopper's making money.

It is still 5 minutes.

I had no idea. I did some shops recently and I'm not so sure there were 5 minutes between :/ areas were back to back and I can easily eye one item, jot a few things on the business card walking down two booths, and then get some food. 0_o good info to keep in my head. I hadn't noticed if this has came back on me. I'll keep in mind for future for sure.

Also, on their shoppers notice board at log in, there's a big paragraph about not overlapping times. It's a few months old but it's still in the main page text.

This was a few years back as well. The shops were all retail clothing that were very similar in nature (appealed to teens who may or may not like to wear the clothing to the beach and one store that was a children's version of the teen store). The help desk argued back and forth with me on the 20 minutes. That is the only time I have had the issue with MF.

At one time I saw that if you are doing a gas audit that you are supposed to do the report before you do the next shop. Yeah like I do not know how to keep track of what pictures go where. They have this nifty default that the pictures have the date and time that you took them as the default name. Just add a follow-up addition to the name.oh like 20171310_2120 Main sign at night. Buhh sometimes I wonder how bright some people aren't. Chemo kicking in got to go.

its been proven again & again that not every mser or forum member is bright person. sad but true.
This is corny, but it might actually help someone else out who is going to try a route shop. I always snap a photo of the address in my notebook before taking my photos of a gas station, and then at the end, snap a photo of whatever at the time (my steering wheel, me, a raccoon, some bushes) to break it up. After about 10 Valero's or Exxon's, etc. they all start to look the same if I've never been there before. A photo in between really helps me out. I live in the south eastern part of Kentucky, though, and nothing really has the address on it. Heck, a lot of this stuff didn't have a "physical address" until 911 went through renaming.

"Who makes a deli purchase and then 15 minutes later makes another one? Or uses the restroom twice in a row? Or walks up and down the entire store twice? Or asks a question at the bakery and then comes back and asks another question? Sure, maybe I should have done it that way to be on the safe side, but it seemed like an absurd thing to do. Lesson learned, I guess."

LOL!! I do!!

"Man, I can't believe it -- I just got your hard salami, and forgot to get the cheese to go with it!" "Oh, hi again -- sorry to bother you again, but I forgot to ask another question -- do you have an allergens statement for the Pumpkin Spice cake?"

And rest assured, they aren't tracking who's using the restroom twice in one visit -- unless they think you're shoplifting!

But like you said, lesson learned, move on. Sorry you're getting pelted so hard in this thread -- really, every one here has made their fair share of honest mistakes, and has no business impugning your ethics or honesty for this.

Next time, e-mail helpdesk and ask before you go...or ask the scheduler.

Best of luck.
Doing two shops at once does have ethical issues. The shops have a variety of information and details that need to be remembered. Doing two shops at the same place at the same time with different requirements doubles the risk of forgetting something or getting something wrong. And if you are adding to the risk of handing in a report that is not your best, ask yourself, should you do it? As well, many MSCs that offer multiple shops at the same location say in their description that you must do it on different days. Although inconvenient at times I agree with that policy to keep the integrity of the data.
I have done 2 different shops for the same grocery store for the same day. The MSC suggest that you go in do one of the shops get your receipt for that one. Then go out to your car, then go back in and do the next shop so there is no overlapping of times.
I was told that the reports needed to entered prior to starting a shop if they were less than 15 minutes apart or you would get flagged. They give a deadline that needs to be met. But they take 3 weeks to decide that they need to ask clarifying questions. But then again...they seem a little bi-polar over there these days and I don't have room in my life for their type of drama.
MF denied a sjop of mine. I always get extra pics. I attach them all as this company wanrs them all. Well it burned me this month. I had a good paying quick gas station shop ($18 for 10 min. Work). I was doing a route. Sure enough, one pic out of 10 on one report was wrong. Nine correct. One wrong. I turned the shop in and immediately (20 sec) was rejected. It became clear to me that the pictures GPS was looked at by the computer. No one contacted me to ask me about it or to correct the problem. Instead I got an email back stating you are supposed to check your work carefully. The moral of the story here is I will never give them extra pictures. It increases the chance that I will make an error and not be paid.
i see your point but what you may want to do in the future is guestimate as best you can when you started the work for one client- and use a totally different time for the other client. since they are two separate reports-- you will probably have to treat them as totally different shops with their own times. The MS computers will automatically read a time discrepancy (overlap) if you don't.

Not a bad idea, except in this case, there was only one receipt for both shops. So the time on the receipt would invalidate one of the reports because it would be clear that the item was not purchased during the time frame the shop was performed. The only way to completely separate the two reports for the two clients is to actually start and end each shop, making a separate purchase for each with at least 5 minutes between each shop.
