But like you said, lesson learned, move on. Sorry you're getting pelted so hard in this thread -- really, every one here has made their fair share of honest mistakes, and has no business impugning your ethics or honesty for this.
Next time, e-mail helpdesk and ask before you go...or ask the scheduler.
