Maritz incentives for noobs

I encouraged a friend to sign up for Maritz, which she finally did today. She went into the job board and noticed that not a single job has an incentive. On my board there are about a hundred with incentives. Do they not offer incentives to noobs? Does anyone know when they finally get to see incentives? This seems counterproductive.

Exact same jobs and she lives 5 mins from me, Yup.

I have been dealing with Maritz for almost 4 years and have done over 1000 shops for them. The only time I have seen incentives on the jobs board was for a period of @ 1 year when they high lighted some shops in gold and offered a bonus of a couple of bucks but I haven't seem that for a couple of years. I do now get incentive shops, some very nicely bonused, but I negotiate them. I don't know what my rating is with Maritz as they don't reveal that but I know it is high through some conversations with some schedulers. So my rating isn't the problem. It is possible that there are so many shoppers in my area that the supply is greater than the demand. Or it could just be me and I have a reputation of being a tough negotiator. There have been times that a scheduler has called me looking to move some shops telling me that they are bonused and I can self assign. For me that is not true and I'd be curious to know why. That being said, Maritz is my largest source of income and I will continue to negotiate in m y own way.
OP aren't you worried that your friend will canabalize your jobs? Or don't you use this MSC much?

Anyway given time she might even invite her fiends to the party who in turn invite their friends. Then suddenly you are scratching around for the remnants of 2 dollar call jobs!
No. I'm not. As much as I like the work, I don't need it. She desperately needs it. I'm willing to let her have as much as she needs before she becomes homeless.

You have a good heart!

Susie shopping the Columbus Ohio area and outlying communities.
Jake, do you know the secret handshake involved in getting someone at Maritz to answer a simple question - doesn't matter - email or return my phone call?
There have been a lot of bonused shops in my area lately. In fact, it is rare to not see at least a few shops with incentives.

Don't expect an email response. Always call. What kind of question do you have that requires a return call?

I've been offered a ton of work for Maritz on Long Island, Jake. I'm about 3 hours from there, too. In fact, looking right now and see incentives on locations in the Hamptons.

I don't have an answer other than perhaps I'm not as good a negotiator as I think I am. I see some shops on the Hamptons but no incentives. By the way, I live on LI and am 2 hours from the Hamptons so If you are 3 hours North if LI you are 5+ hours from the East End.
I was able to see incentives when I first signed up with them, that was a few weeks ago
No I’m not saying that you’re not good at negotiating. I’m saying that Maritz appears to be totally random when it comes to who sees incentives. We both have excellent track records yet I can get a tiny incentive to go to your area and you can’t? Do they want these done or not?

"What kind of question do you have that requires a return call?

First couple of shops with them, more than 2 weeks ago, no data available on the website. Sent invoice, no payment made according the schedule. Simple question is - when do you think I might get paid, next time, time after, etc. - not able to get a call back, left a couple messages, thought it was an easy question.
Payment on time is usually not a problem with Maritz. I would wait for the next pay period and if you don't get your check follow up at that point. You might want to talk to Admin.
Admin (team 7) nearly always requires a returned phone call nowadays. That makes sense.

Hmmm, what I remember about any type of computer programming and good sized companies is this:

There is an algorithm that is typically put into place, that dictates how certain items appear. For this, it could be shopper rating, length of time in working with the company, shopper experience with the particular shop, how they accept incentives, etc. All of that information could be inputted by information received from the shopper, through their reports submitted, the scheduler, editor, etc. It can be so extensive that it could appear to be "random", but it would not be.

What I do know is that I have never heard of a program or company that would take the time to go into their program to isolate a particular shopper. There isn't the manpower or money to justify something like that.

I'm assuming that when we call in and talk to someone there, the reason they ask for our Shopper ID is to view our rating and historical data along with any comments to that effect.

What I do know (have been told) is that they (the MSC schedulers) will call their best shoppers to alert them of available shops that are bonused and can be self-assigned.

And why wouldn't they? They need the shop done, why would they call their newbies or flakes?

I find it hard to believe that the company that has yet to discover email as well as the ability to transfer a phone call is organized well enough to individualize their payment structure. Lol

I don't know about algorithms but I do know the schedulers write down everything you say into their shopper file. So a second scheduler that you may talk to opens your file and knows the details of the last conversation. I don't think the schedulers have any influence on incentives - that determination is made by a supervisor and the client, in my experience. Why some shoppers are offered small automatic incentives and others not is beyond my comprehension.
My son started mystery shopping a couple of months ago. He is signed up on Maritz, and the same thing - no bonuses on his "Find Shops", tons on mine. I wasn't sure if it would be a good or bad thing for him to call and inquire about it.
What harm is there in calling about it. It's not like they're going to take away his non-existent incentives.
They won't know anything, however. They never know anything.

This might be telling tales, but ........... I had a discussion once with another shopper - one who also shopped for Maritz among others. She said that Maritz forbids having shoppers who are related.

I just shrugged.

I've never asked them (Maritz) .... had no reason.
