Helion

I found some threads that are old about this company. Does anyone have recent experience with them?

I just completed my first three shops for them. I got a LOA that none of the three well known locations would accept. Two locations were a well known nationwide big box store in two different cities. They checked and their vendor list didn't show any information of this upcoming "vendor interaction". One said their district manager had told them to make sure I left the store immediately.

The shop is for their IREP program. I have to say I understand their reactions.

I did a number of those shops at three different big box locations (two chains) and had no trouble with the LOA and store management. Easiest money I've made since starting shopping a few months ago.

Did they send you a cashier's check first? I'm skeptical about depositing this check into my account due to the fact that I'm on disability and can't afford to pay this amount of money back to the bank.

There is a real company called Helion, but scammers use the name of real companies frequently to steal money from unsuspecting people. Mystery shopping companies do not send large checks to shoppers and do not pay shoppers in advance for work.

Here is how mystery shopping typically works: you sign up with a company on their website filling out an application and you have a user name or password to log into the website. Some companies have job boards so you can look over the jobs and decide if you want to do any of them. You "apply" for the job, which generally pays between $10-$20 per assignment, and after completing the assignment, you log into the website and electronically fill in your report. After the company has edited and sent the report to their client, it takes a couple of weeks before you get paid. Do not fall for this scam!!!!
