My new 10 foot pole shop

I never thought I would have a phone shop on my 10 foot pole list, but now I do. JM Ridgeway has one occasionally that before yesterday I was never able to schedule. I like phone shops since I don't use any gas and usually they're quick and pretty easy. They don't pay much, but more often than not I can do them with very little effort and the report isn't bad. I did a recorded phone call yesterday and the salesperson didn't make much effort to sell the product. I covered all this in the yes and no questions and of course there were narratives for each section to explain this. I was okay with this although they wanted it in excruciating detail. And then to top it all off they wanted a summary at the end. It specifically said "a one or two sentence summary will not be accepted." So I had to repeat everything I said in previous narratives, again in excruciating detail. In total between call and report it took about 30 minutes. If the salesman had done his job properly, it probably would have taken about 45 minutes to an hour. Definitely not worth it.

I found that phone shops are never worth the time and effort. There is too much narrative for the fee.

Depends on the phone shop. There are some phone shops that I find pretty easy.
Does anyone have an idea why this was moved to this forum? It's not a topic about a specific MSC which is what I thought belongs in this forum. Just curious so I can put similar topics in the correct forum in the future.

There are a few I specifically look for that are totally easy.

Phone shops pair well with parking shops. Park and wait the 30-60 minutes in a nearby cafe. While there I can complete three to ten phone shops. A $15 parking shop can quickly turn into an easy $40-$70.

Are you not concerned that others could hear what you're saying on the phone?

First, if it's crowded, I walk outside or to a quiet corner to make my call - I need to hear the target of the call clearly and don't want recordings to pick up background noise.. Second, I'm not concerned about others hearing me. After all, what do I care of they hear me making a reservation at a restaurant, asking about college admissions policies, or inquiring about an apartment on the other side of the country? To be clear: When I do this, I don't shop the cafe....

Bestmark offers a phone shop that I like to do. It pays 5.00 to call a popular electronics retailer and ask if a certain item is in stock. Takes about 1 minute on the phone and 5 minutes for the form.
