JMRidgeway Did Not Reimburse My Expenses!

I completed my first job for JMRidgeway. It was $15 PLUS up to $5.50 to buy a cup of coffee. The coffee cost me $3.76 and was so bad I had to toss it. I wanted to call the manager, but that is a “no-no” for mystery shoppers.
My report was accepted and they list it as “total : $18.76” Imagine my surprise when I received my PayPal payment from them today for $15!!!

What?? I emailed them, but I am worried. I know it is only $3.76 but I WORKED for that $3.76 - it was in our agreement - I feel like they stole from me.

What should I do?

Sounds to me like a simple mistake. I would just talk to them (sounds like you emailed) and see.
I wouldn't freak out and post they stole from me if it just happened today and they hadn't even been given a chance to explain and/or rectify the situation.

Just relax. I've had bonuses and parking fees forgotten, never a reimbursement but I'm sure it's just an oversight. Call your scheduler, or look on their website for what they want you to do if you have a problem with payment (perhaps they have an accounts payable person they want you to talk to).
Yo have your receipt, so they know what you ordered. /Write and tell the there seems to be an error, give them a chance to fix it.

Live consciously....
In my experience they send two payments for each shop: one for the fee and one for the reimbursement. They show up as two different Paypal transactions.
I didn’t say they stole from me - I said that is how I felt.

I have just been reading a lot of complaints about them lately ... so I guess I overreacted.
Keep in mind, the MSCs are our customers. I certainly don't believe in the old adage about the customer always being right, but taking them to task on a public forum without giving them the benefit of the doubt is not fair to them.

I just did a search for threads on JMRidgway and could not find a lot of recent complaints. Several years ago they may have had some payment issues which have since been rectified.

BTW. on their login page I found a link to their Shopper Overview. Within the overview is this statement,

"NOTE: For shoppers who accept payments thru PayPal, please be advised that your shop fee and the purchase reimbursement will be paid in 2 separate transactions. They will be coded as 826 for the fee and 827 for the purchase reimbursement."

You are right. I had a bad day and $3.76 seemed like a big deal ... it was more about asking for help than trying to trash them - but I guess I worded it all wrong.

Damage is done. I can’t delete the thread - i’m sorry!
You can edit both the subject line and your original post.

No worries about JM Ridgeway. Like MMM and Lisa indicated, they make fee and reimbursement payments in different transactions. I work for them quite a bit, and occasionally the two payments are separated by hours or even a day. Also, they use Paypal and Paypal eCheck. eCheck can take a day or two to clear. I have never been sure why I still randomly receive either form of payment. Todays payment looks like I got Paypal for the reimbursement, and eCheck for the fee.
Look on the bright side, you learned something and probably led to others learning something. But go ahead and tone it down if you can still edit it. smiling smiley
Under your original post there is an edit button which will allow you to edit both your post and your title.
JM normally sends 2 separate payments. 1 for reimbursement and 1 for shop fees. Just give it a day or 2 and the reimbursement part should arrive. I shop with them and they have always paid and never short me. Reach out to your scheduler or Frank if necessary.
