Market Force pulls jewelry shop at last minute....AGAIN!

This is the second time they offered a decent price for this same shop and then removed it at the last minute. The shop was for tomorrow. I didn't even get an email from them yet. I just noticed it wasn't in my list of shops to do. It was listed there earlier today. Both times I took it for the higher price and built a route around it as it's located 45 minutes away. Never again!

These yoyos should be called Market Farce rather than Market Force. They probably found a random clown to do the assignment without a bonus.

Anne, good luck with your future endeavors.

Market Force - please explain this issue.

Thanks.
I had two scheduled and they've pulled both of mine as well. WTF - How rude can you be. We as shoppers have to cancel, why can't they show us the same respect. I was just requesting three post office shops to add to the route in that town. Luckily, I was able to cancel my request as it wouldn't be worth the drive for those alone.

I came here to complain about this exact same thing! I am so disappointed! I was really looking forward to my shop. How extremely unprofessional.
I feel for all of you! Thank stinks! Those jewelry shops sit on the board forever and a day here. It looks like they would be happy to have someone sign up for one!

Cancelled shops are a part of the industry. (I had $300 in shops cancelled on my the last two weeks)... However, to not at least send an email explanation/apology is not cool.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
A MSC does not owe us, as Shoppers, an excuse for cancelling. In general, the Client has cancelled the shop for one reason or another. No MSC is going to pay a Shopper for a shop the Client cancelled. This specific MSC always says to check the website before shopping in case of changes. The MSC also depended on the money, it is not one sided when a cancellation happens.
From what I've read on this thread, those of us that were cancelled are upset by the lack of notice, not because the shops were cancelled.

I did just receive the cancellation notice, 20 hours after the assignments were removed.

I just received cancellation emails for jewelry shops I completed in October so 20 hours after the assignment apparently isn't that bad lol.

Yes I was!
If the cancellation came after the shopper had completed the assignment, they damn sure owe the shopper the money. It wouldn't matter who cancelled the shop and if the MSC is smart they will go after the client in that case.

That is a frustrating part of the business. I have had other companies do it too. Though they cancelled the day before, I still had to head to that town for the other shops I'd booked. sad smiley
About 6 months ago I had a route of Sonic and ConocoPhillips mystery shops lined up. 2 days before the route, I received a phone call from the MSC informing me that one of the locations had been cancelled. She was very apologetic, but did not know why. On my route, I still drove right by that particular location. That Sonic location had a major fire. It was a black, charred husk of a location. So, there was my answer.
I had (different type) some that I had already performed and was in the process of inputting. I received a cancellation notice but it had a condition to let the help desk know if I had already completed the assignments. I did let them know and was able to input my reports, but I rarely see those shops now -- it's as if I'm off the ones in my area but I can see others far out...and it's not exactly like I think other shoppers are dying for these shops... Meh.

I had the same email come through for a shop that jewelry shop. I emailed them and told them that I had no such shops scheduled; but I wanted to make them aware that they may have emailed the wrong person. I got an email back that said they inadvertently included my shop from November in with these shops. Probably just someone clicking the wrong button; but I can understand peoples frustration.

I received several emails of canceled shops and I did not have any scheduled. Sounds like a cluster fudge all of the way around!

I never stated what mystery shopping company I was working for.

This whole thread is about Market Force and you posted in this thread, naming two clients.
It is common to talk about multiple MSC's within the same thread even if the original poster was talking about a particular MSC. This thread is also about cancelled shops, and I was giving an example of a location that was cancelled. The ICA and forum rules state that you cannot name the MSC and the Client together. Because I never named the MSC, I did not break any rules.

But, the client and MSC can't be named in the same thread. So if they are shopped by Marketforce they have to be removed. They don't exist where I live so I don't know.
The forum rules may state that you can't name the same client and the same MSC in the same thread, and if so, I stand corrected. However the ICA says nothing about "threads." It just says I can't reveal their clients, and I did not do so because I never stated nor implied the MSC.

Edit: I looked up the forum rules

What are the rules for posting on this forum?

The rules are stated on the forum. “Posting Guidelines: Be honest. Add a positive contribution to the community. You are responsible for all the content of your post. Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies. We're in this together. And most importantly: Have fun!” Pretty simple. We want to show respect, support, and not violate any (ICA) Independent Contractor Agreement.

I did not state the MSC with the Client together, and the forum rules do not have specific directives about degrees of separation or inferences based on threads. I am not sure why it would be an ICA violation to make an inference based on the title of the thread, but be ok to use an obviously recognized nickname like "hedgehog". That seems a bit hypocritical.

I see those jewelry shops on my job board for the whopping fee of $8, where they will sit for a while.
thunderdeacon, you violated forum policy no matter how you want to belabor the point. You have certainly been here long enough to know. I reported it to the moderators since you seem unwilling to edit your post.

I had three scheduled. They notified that 2 of them were cancelled. I wouldn't bother with the third one. Editing to write that the third one was cancelled two but I was not notified. I would have been in an awful mood but luckily, I have a beauty facial shop! so to hell with their jewelry shops..LOL

I think they had the same issue with TV and internet shops in Nov. They posted them for a higher amount by error and said that I could either cancel or do it at a lower rate.
They pulled those and the roast beef shops but later that same day they said to ignore the previous email and they would reinstate them but no go with the pretty bauble shop.
