I think you have to look at more than just the immediate profit in terms if pay for amount of work when considering the value of dining assignments; Getting food and experiences that are both desirable and healthy, for instance.
Every dollar you earn on FF pizza and burger shops may cost you just as much in terms of your health. Getting a meal you might otherwise choose to buy for yourself not only earns you the fee, but offsets your cost of purchasing the meal, which in turn may function like the equivalent of pay.

BJ's Brewery has (for me) the best food, big selection, and easy reports and enough $$ to eat a nice meal, being I can go alone.

I'd love to try a BJ's shop. There's one that comes up regularly on my board, but it's about half an hour from here. I have to be in that town for a client meeting every so often and am trying to pick up a shop and schedule a meeting on the same day.(

Anybody done the MOD Pizza shops? They have several locations in my area, but I haven't done any. Seems too much to bother with for the base flat fee, but they sometimes get bonused up a few dollars. I wouldn't mind trying the pizza, but wouldn't mind making a handful of dollars while doing so, either!

I enjoy the food and experience at Mod Pizza but the shop is definitely borderline as too much work for the money. $15 base fee would be nice but the locations in my area never get that high.

Arooga's take-out shops are great! The food is delicious, and the report is easy. I'm doing my first dine-in shop this month, and the reimbursement amount seems more than adequate for two. It looks like they've removed the bar portion of the regular dining shop (I think you had to sit at the bar and have a drink, then go to the dining room to eat, but you don't have to do that now). So I'm hoping that one won't be too bad. They still have the bar/dinner shops, but I don't think I'd do those.
Hoss's Steak & Seahouse shops are fast becoming a favorite of mine. Easier than, e.g., BWW, with many healthy choices on the menu (and a great salad bar), and simple report. But I think that chain is pretty regional. BTW, what happened to the BWW shops????
Glad to see that Green Turtle is shopped. One is opening up later this year, about 3 minutes from my house!
