KSS mis-assigned shop issues

I was assigned a shop by KSS/Kern Scheduling a couple of days ago and completed the shop yesterday. I wasn't able to find the survey online when I went to input my data last night, so I emailed Ryan. After a little back-and-forth, he determined I'd mistakenly been assigned to the shop and apologized and removed me. Do I not have a recourse here to at least get back the $ I paid for the shop? The scheduler in question (Ryan) has been terrible about getting back to me in the past, and I'm considering dropping them entirely over this situation.

It figures it was Ryan. Don't drop the whole company over one self-important scheduler. I wouldn't advise doing him favors because he doesn't reciprocate. I get the stereotypical Millennial vibe from him.

They have some really excellent schedulers for other projects, though. You should email Lorri about the money. She has been responsive in other situations.

If this assignment included a fee you should receive both.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

That is very upsetting. Yeah, I mean, that's been my experience with him. However, since the companies owner wants us to rest assured he is the best then I suggest you contact her.
I had an issue with Alex when he worked there. I applied for a bank shop in a certain location and he assigned me a to a different bank in a different location much farther away. I realized the error when I arrived at the location and pulled up the guidelines for a refresh (I had done the bank many times in the past). I emailed him and after some back and forth, he dropped off the grid. I was always professional in my words. He blackballed me from the company and I wasn't able to apply for any more shops from them. Lorri wouldn't do anything about it. She told me to talk to him directly. I did, and he reinstated me, but I chose not to work with him again. I think Ryan replaced him.

Thank you all for the advice. I was worried I'd jumped the gun by performing the shop, but it was listed to be performed between 1-3 days and there was zero indication that there was a mistake until I went to put in the data. It's only $28, but it's also the principle of the thing. I also emailed him directly inquiring about my fee, and he naturally did not respond. I'll be contacting Lorri directly but I don't have high hopes. I also can't see shopping for them in the future, considering the level of un-professionalism with Ryan. Too bad considering the editors have always been wonderful to work with. This whole thing just left such a bad taste in my mouth, eck.

I had a problem w/ me he was in a bind and asked me to do a shop to help him out. It clearly states you cannot return to the same site until after 90 days. I was just there a month ago .. I asked him about it he said it was fine he didn’t care than it had been only 30 days. I emailed him
Back and asked if I would still get paid he said No.

That's crazy! Did you ever work with them again? I'm honestly shocked at how this guy has been conducting himself. Did you end up contacting Kerri? I would if you haven't already; if what you say is true then acting that way compromises the integrity of the shop. And is just extremely dishonest.
Their phone numbers are listed on the KSS profile page: [kernscheduling.com]

Several of their schedulers are good, and a few are excellent. Might not want to drop them all over one bad apple.

Ryan is horrible about answering questions in a timely manner and I get NO response when pointing out errors in the guidelines. The only time he talks to you is if he needs a shop done but will not answer questions after the shop is assigned.
Thanks, all. I actually forwarded the email chain to Kerri yesterday afternoon, around 2 PM. I've actually emailed her previously over issues with Ryan in the past, but never heard back. Hopefully this will actually get her attention, otherwise I will be giving her a call on Monday. I have to admit, I'm surprised this guy is still employed with them if he's so bad to work with.
Unsurprisingly, neither Ryan nor Lorri has responded to me! What recourse do I have here? I can tell they're just ignoring me and hoping I'll go away, but I'm more than happy to escalate this.
I'm not surprised you haven't heard from Ryan. I have nothing good to say about him, so I'll say nothing. However, I'm really surprised you haven't heard from Lorri Kern. Try emailing her again, at KSSLorri@kernscheduling.com. Please come back and let us know if you got a response and the resolution to the issue.

fyi, interestingly, Barbry Booth, MSF's Scheduler of the Year in our last contest, who used to work for Customer Impact, now works for KSS, KSSBarbry@kernscheduling.com
I just self-assigned a bank through KSS (Kineses) and just got my acceptance email. I had trouble inputting report last time, hoping that was straightened out....I've worked with Lori, but not Ryan......

Live consciously....
I just returned from (trying) a bank job and the target was not in...instructions say "do not shop from 11:00 am till 2:00pm". The bank opens at 10:00, I went at 10:30 and he wasn't there. The Manager said he doesn't get in until 11:00 and gave me his card to make an appointment., however they say to walk in......now what, anyone else had this happen. I'm not driving by late afternoon and taking a chance since it seems he works by appt. only. My scheduler was Shelly I wrote her and set her his card, waiting to hear from her.

Hi!

I was in Havana Cuba for the last week for "February Break" (don't laugh, it's a thing here in New England!). I had ZERO internet access for the week - you wouldn't believe the lack of internet in Cuba. I am trying to catch up on email right now (more than 950 still to go!!!), but if you will email me with URGENT in the subject line and all of the details, I will look into it for you right away and get you answers.
I still have not had a response to my three emails sent due to the target not getting in until 11:00, and instruction's say, do not shop from 11:00 to 2:00. I went twice and the target was not there.....seems he makes appointments.....tried my best to get a response going. I feel I won't be paid for my efforts and the instructions are wrong, and after a week no return email. Thanks KSS

You went to Cuba? ...almost 1000 emails? No one covered for you? Really?
Business school at BC has got some great instruction on Biz 101...try it.
I'm still waiting for an answer about my above post...no one got back to me over a job they needed done..been over a week. I'm done with them.....

I have a job Ryan was the scheduler But I can not get any guidelines or forms to imput the shop or instructions on how to do it. It is due tomorrow I tried calling the scheduling department it had a voice mail she would be out of the office starting February but would be back in the office the 19th of February. I have tried emailing many messages no answer.
WINEMAKEr......Actually, poster is exactly correct. Cuba advertises internet IS available and it is not. TRUTH.. do you have a back up for yourself in EVERY situation? In case you missed it mystery shoppers are generally not with a crew of backup! Be nice!
