MarketForce 2 hour wireless shop

I see a couple of shops on the available list that you can make an offer for, but in the notes it says "allow 2 hours to complete the shop". Has anyone done one of these? Does it really take two hours? I can't imagine sitting in a store that long talking about phone plans, and the other wireless company they have shops for generally take only 30 minutes.

The shops for this company almost never disappear from the board, so I'm thinking there aren't many people that want to lose 2 hours of the day (plus however long it takes to do the report) for what they're offering.

I can't imagine it taking so long. Could the assignment actually be an audit? While I have never had a cell phone audit take more than 20 or 30 minutes, because you have to complete them in one trip and work with a manager it could take much longer.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Hmm...you're probably right. The description on the job page is "This audit involves going to a X Wireless location and evaluating the location's ability to describe certain products to you." I was thinking it was more like the other store I've done, where you go in saying you want to change phone providers or cable providers, but possibly they want you to out yourself as an auditor for this shop and have them tell you how they'd describe a lot of products to customers. I could see that taking quite a long time if they cooperate.
It is an sudit. Do it live on your tablet with the guidelines open for reference or it is is like doing it twice. Open MF webpage and click on report shop when you get to the location. 20 min max if no customers arrive.

Ah ha! That explains the 2 hour time. I didn't think about the need for them to leave to help real customers and then coming back to continue. Thanks spicy!
It is an announced, revealed audit and you have to call 48 hours ahead of time. Ask for, and go in, the least busy time and ask if and when 2 employees will be there.

The newest requirement is that you report the phone call immediately (online) that you had with the manager, getting the store hours and directions, right after you get off the phone.. The report goes into "progress" and when you do the audit, you go in and complete the remainder of the report. I have done a few of these audits. smiling smiley
I was nervous to do these at first but I received a make offer of $35 on one that was walking distance from a hotel I was at. I was pleasantly surprised to be done in about 20 minutes and have since taken on three more. If you read slow or the associates are particularly chatty it might take a half hour to forty five minutes.

Definitely not a two hour gig for me unless the place is utterly slammed, and in that instance, you can still do a majority of the report that requires a few photos if anything is wrong. If there are several employees available, it's easier too because you can do the questions with any associate on staff. I am glad I finally did one.

On a separate note, I cannot make myself do the other stores that say to allow 2-4 hours and have a hundred items or so to input...

This is not always the case.

I have done audits where there was one employee and 5 customers demanding to be helped at once. I have done audits where there was a line at the door waiting to go in. I simply got lucky because I head right for the manager and he focused most of his attention on the audit. I have done audits where the customers are all over the place, asking questions while I am asking questions and it gets distracting. tongue sticking out smiley

But the good news is: Some of it you can answer yourself (signs, customer privacy, lighting) and if, for some reason you can't get much help, you can explain why "very busy store" in your report but luckily I have not had to write that in yet. smiling smiley
Never had a wireless shop go more than 20 mins at most. A majority of the time the sales men are tight lip and I have to lead the shop to make it last that long.
And if you are "leading" then you are not doing what you are supposed to be doing and "evaluating"
in my area, the key is to not go right when the store opens. At first I thought that would be best but there is always a line out the door of customers with issues. End of the day is usually best for me and I'm in and out in 10 minutes.
No way do these things take 2 hours or even 1 hour. Max 30 minutes, and thats if something is like really wrong.

Lol yes the 2-4 hour ones paying $8 are they for real?
These are compliance reviews and usually take me about 15 minutes. One time I had to wait for an employee since customers come first so I think I was in the store for 25 minutes total. I’ve never understood why it says to allow 2 hours though. It doesn’t take anything close to that!
I was sad to see most of these gone in my area before going up to $15. I did these @ $25 and would love to do more. Fortunately 2 that are close by are still available.
Would one of you explain to me what the audits entail? I’ve been hesitant to do them.
It depends on which client, which wireless brand, as they are different types of things to do with each. Maybe start a new topic mentioning the client since the msc has already been mentioned.
The one that says allows two hours can be executed in 20 minutes of true work and observation time once you get past the introductions, assuming full attention with no interruptions and they can answer the questions quickly and confidently. The report will prompt why you were not in the store at least 30 minutes. Therefore, I make sure I get thorough pics in case I ever get an email followup--which is like never. And I enter responses. If I need to enter lengthy answers besides the pick box choices, explain something, sometimes I do that in the store. But they are straightforward. From quarter to quarter, there are little updates, but they are only tweaked slightly in the questions.
I did two of these last week at the base fee of $14 each. Why???? Because they were nearby, and they take all of 10-15 min MAX plus maybe 5-10 min to input report. Both of my locations were free of customers, both were in tip top shape, so I only had to take 2 or 3 pixs MAX. And to top it off, at the first one I did, they had one of their branded Android phones on a deal for $20 IF you port your number over. Well, I've had a Windows OS phone for over 5 years, and I knew it was time to switch because of the lack of apps and support from Microsoft. So I got me a new Android phone for $20, plus a no-contract deal for unlimited phone/text/data for $45/mo. So I was a happy camper/auditer!!

And as an aside.......oh my good gracious, so MANY more HELPFUL apps on an Android phone compared to a Windows OS phone!!

And as another aside....I kept my Windows phone....still use the WiFi on it, comes in handy. All the apps work! Can do everything I did before EXCEPT call and text. So I still have the best of both worlds!!
I never stay at a shop location the required time.....if i hit all the data points and the associate in nit proactive....i will usually leave and mark it accordinly
If the shop instructions state to stay minimum x minutes, that's what i do, even if i finish the interaction early. I'll just browse around. The client may view the video and see u aren't there the required time.

These dont have a minimum, right?

Correct. No minimum. The survey asks what time you started, what time you finished. But no minimum.
