Can anyone give me their experience in doing an opening a bank account shop? The guidance seems pretty straight forward. But, is it as easy as it seems?

I have opened bank accounts with at several banks with several MSC's. Yes, it is easy. Usually, the client is primarily concerned with whether or not the bank representative is complying with federal laws and bank procedures.

I have just recently opened three and the reports and interactions were very,very easy. Caught what looked like interesting non-compliance on 2 out of the 3.

Very easy. Pay close attention to what the banker says to you and what options they offer you and if they try to let you know about other areas of the bank, suggesting loans, CDs, investment counseling, etc. I have opened some bank accounts and closed them after the required time period. I have opened others and really liked the bank so I chose to keep the accounts active. I now have checking/savings accounts at 4 different banks.

I have several bank accounts, I try mostly for savings accounts which allows me to shop the branch easily. I only close an account if the MSC doesn't shop them for awhile, this can take a year or more.
