Advice getting hotel shops from Coyle?

I've been shopping for Coyle for a couple of years now, and they seem to be the only company that has hotel shops in my area (i.e. a reasonable distance that I might travel for a weekend getaway). I've always requested them and have never received them - any tips on getting these shops from Coyle? I'm thinking people who have more seniority than I do are likely getting them, but is there anything else I can do to make my request look more appealing to those who assign shops?

You could email Tami directly and ask her. They're often looking for a particular demographic, but asking her directly would give you a chance to "sell" yourself.

I'd suggest you do a phone job and a small lunch job just to let them know who you are....I don't see them looking for a certain demographic (for the most part), but one whose work they know.

The OP posted they have worked for Coyle for a few years. I took this to mean that the OP has already completed several shops but just can't get the hotel applications approved. Maybe the OP can clarify if they have successfully completed any phone or restaurant shops?

Depending on when OP worked for them. I worked for them years ago, and am starting over, so have to do the smaller jobs again....which was what I meant. Seems OP has yet to do a hotel, as he stated.

Yep, as luckygirl surmised, I have done a number of restaurant shops for Coyle, and never had any problems. I made some minor mistakes (forgot to list the time one of the courses arrived, etc) but that was quickly rectified when they emailed me. Never had a major problem come up doing a shop for them. Yet for some reason I'm never approved for hotel shops.

I've never been in contact with Tami; the one who always schedules with me is Kate or a man whose name I don't recall at the moment. Would emailing her directly be acceptable or would that just make me look bad?
Email Tami and make it polite and as well-written and brief without being stuffy. Give a few quick details on previous hotel experience and see where it goes.
Thanks for the advice! I don't have Tami's email (tried finding it on Coyle's site, but it doesn't list e-mails). Is it just tami@coylehospitality?
Where are you located?

Are you willing to travel? If so, you may be able generate some goodwill by offering to travel to a less desirable property. It's a way to get your foot in the door.

Good luck.
I'm in Philadelphia, and happy to travel if they reimburse the travel costs (which are usually reasonable, being on the east coast corridor and all). I'm happy to travel to less desirable properties - I just tend to get restless after a few months of not going anywhere, so I don't much care where I go as long as I get a change of scenery. So that's a really good piece of advice - thank you!
Hello, I am to Coyle (very new). How quick is the reimbursement on hotels, restaurants?

Please and thank you!

For the restaurants, Coyle pays the end of the month after you did your shop. So whether you shopped early March or late March, you will be reimbursed end of April. Sometimes, though not too often, if an end of month shop does not get approved until the next month, you'll have to wait another month. For example: A shop end of March can get approved early April which means it'll be paid end of May.
For the hotels, it depends if you get reimbursed through Coyle (in which case the above applies) or if your credit card fees are cancelled - this could then be reimbursed a bit faster but depends on the Client and their systems / policies.
I would suggest finding someone else to do shops for. This is a company that will either give you hotel shops or won't. If you've worked with them awhile and still can't get hotels you're a won't. In my experience there is nothing you can do to change that.
