You need to be proactive and contact your bank immediately. The bank will release the funds in a few days while it will take much longer for the check to come back as fraudulent. Let them know you have been the victim of a fraud so they may waive the fee and to protect yourself from criminal prosecution. Do not respond to the people texting you ever again. If they go so far as to threaten you, don't be frightened. These scam artists are usually located in a foreign country so threats are simply designed to intimidate you.
Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.
"I prefer someone who burns the flag and then wraps themselves up in the Constitution over someone who burns the Constitution and then wraps themselves up in the flag." -Molly Ivins
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
