Market Force scheduler calls

When I first signed up with Market Force, I got a scheduler call the next day, and was offered some nice highly bonused shops that was above what the webpage listed. I have not received another call from them in 3 months. Is this normal? I continue to do various shops with them.

This just means that most if not all of the shoppers in your area are not flaking out on their shops. The highly bonused shops are usually a result of someone canceling them at the last minute.

Well, the odd thing was when they called, none of the shops they mentioned were bonused on the webpage. When I said I didn't sign up for them because the fee was too low, the scheduler jumped to a kinda crazy offer that I've never seen since. This was done on multiple shops. Just wondering if that was a new member call only or some other reason why I haven't been contacted since.
Your being offered highly bonused shops a day after you signed up and nothing since is interesting and unusual. There are some shoppers who posted on this forum saying that they have not received any calls from the schedulers. Market Force has a complex formula for rotation, bonus, deactivation, etc... that most of us have not been able to figure out. Just continue to do a great job shopping for them and eventually the schedulers will call you again. Good luck.
They call when they need shops done. There aren’t many shoppers in my area and I get calls almost every day. You may have a lot of shoppers in your area.
I get many calls from two different area codes, which I assume is them and I don't answer. They never leave a message. I'm always afraid they will try and get me to do a cell phone shop. I hate those shops (hard for me, since my phone is pretty new). I'm also usually at work so I'm not necessarily in a good position to haggle.
It comes and goes in waves. I have had them call me and offer me very nice fees on some last minute shops, but that hasn't happened in a while. I can go through periods where I will get calls a couple of times a week, then not hear from them for six months or more. I think it depends on the other shoppers in your area. If other shoppers are taking them and completing them, they don't have to call me, lol.
I've never received a call from Market Force and it's been over a year since I signed up. I'm checking my email and the website daily and they never have anything in NJ, ever! At one point they closed my account because I haven't accepted any shops so they assumed I was no longer interested in shopping for them. I got them to reopen my account but still how am I supposed to accept a shop for you if there's nothing in my state? It just doesn't make sense to me and I'm not about to go to another state for like a $10 or $15 shop. It's not worth it.

Look for phone shops or internet/web shops. You can do those from home and still show MF you are interested in staying signed up with them until something of interest becomes available in your area. Just a thought.
RockinRita, MF has plenty of shops in NJ. Don't know why you're not seeing them, unless you are blocked for some reason. Right now, the inventory is low, but I usually show well over 1000 within a 100 mile radius of me.

Scheduler called and wanted me to do a 30 mile (one way) shop, 60 mile RT for $7. I told her no. She said, "How about $9 dollars?" tongue sticking out smiley

How about $75???? Now that would be a decent offer.

It's wasn't MF, but I had one MSC call me about a cell phone shop that was 60 miles away. They started at $20 (listed as $15), I kept saying no, and they came up to $90. When I said it was still too far away and too much traffic, they said $150 just before I hung up! I mean, damn, they must be desperate to offer literally 10x the listing fee. Sadly, I still had to decline, because it would have taken 4 hours in traffic.
Yeah, traffic can be a real bummer, and has to be taken into account when considering a job, that's for sure!
Why don't you contact them? You could have a bunch of restrictions on your account preventing you from seeing any shops. Or maybe something else is going on. You just never know.

As someone else said, just contact them! There are plenty of shops in NJ. Contact through the help desk and ask them why you're not seeing any shops. Maybe when they re-set your account, somebody on their end forgot to put you back as active, even though you can log in. Or check your profile; maybe you haven't filled out all the required fields.

I've always gotten a response from their help desk, not always right away, but in a timely fashion. Recently I couldn't see shops I've been doing, wrote to them, and received a prompt reply with explanation.

Ha, I'm the same way in reverse... companies keep trying to entice me to go to New Jersey and I always say that I don't go over the bridge from Philly... not worth it! I used to get a ton of calls from MF until I told them they were calling too much (sometimes 3 or 4 times in one day).

I am in Philly right now. I'm visiting my parents for the weekend. It's my Mom's birthday.

I do one shop a month for their burger client. A week after I do my shop, I get the calls. I tell them to call me next month. I got 3 calls on Saturday.

Not when you factor in the time to do the shop and write the report. Plus, I'm not sure that 4 hours cited was one way or round trip. In some areas of the country, it could take 4 hours to drive 60 miles! I'm guessing it was one way, but you never know.... There's a city 30 miles away from me that often has shops, but I never do them because it takes an hour to get there. I used to do a shop about 55 miles away, and it took 1 hour, 45 minutes to get there. I'd got a large bonus to do it, but the only reason I would was because I had other business things I could do on the way home.

A while back, I got a call from an overseas scheduler. She asked if I would do a shop for $4.50. I told her it was on the board for $9. She then asked if I would consider doing it for $6. Seriously!

I have a few favorite schedulers in the U.S. They know how to do business, and how to treat shoppers. If I see that I got a call from overseas, I occasionally will call a scheduler here for details. They are more than happy to tell me which shop is being offered to me, and the fee that they can offer.
The Market Force calls from overseas have become annoying! They call at dinner time and their English is so heavily accented that I can understand only about half of it. They read every word of the instructions and I have to interrupt in order to say I can't do it. Tonight I was offered $7.00 for a cell phone shop that was listed for $9.00 on the website. I said that it was a 50 mile round trip, so the gas would cost $7.00. Then I was asked if I would do it for $9.00 and I reminded her that I had just told her that the trip was 50 miles and the trip + performing and reporting the shop would take about 2 hours, giving me a profit of about $1.00 per hour. She then asked how much I wanted. That haggling is driving me crazy! I don't want to be rude to someone who has a job I would hate, but I don't want to be annoyed and insulted by these calls. Sometimes they have offered fifty cents more than the first offer. On the other hand, I get calls from 2 or 3 other schedulers who are businesslike and get right to the point, offering a reasonable fee.
I have the overseas Marketforce number as a contact in my phone. When I get a call I can decide if I want to answer it or not. Today the call came in from a different area code. I answered and told the person I wasn't interested, and added that number to the contact. An hour later I got another call from "No ID". It was my Marketforce friend again.

I don't let their calls ring on my regular phone. I send it to google voice and get email/voice transcript automatically. They use to bother me until i went to gvoice. And it's free.
Their calls are coming from Michigan these days.

Yes, that was the area code of yesterday's number.

I got another call today, and decided to pick it up. Market Force schedulers are always pushy, but this one was the worst. She wanted to know if I could complete a lunch show this weekend. I told her I had family commitments. She kept asking, so I said we were having a memorial party for my niece (who passed away a couple of months ago). She did not understand what 'niece' meant, but apologized and said she'd call me next time.

Granted I don't get overseas calls - just Georgia, but cant one just say no thanks. Or here is what I can do it for and if they cant pay that then dont sweat it and thank them for their time?
It took me some time in MSing but eventually I realized what my time is worth. If they can match that - great. If not then I dont get offended or go back and forth when it appears fruitless.
Am I wrong here?
I had overseas people bothering me constantly about $7.80 reimbursement shops earlier this year. Sent a strongly worded email to MF helpdesk and the overseas calls stopped.

I received polite, reasonable-fee-offerred calls from Georgia about the same shops just this week.
I get calls from them at least once or twice a week. My problem is, on 90% of them, I cant understand a word they are saying.
I don't mind getting oversea calls because it means a chance to get higher fee shops. BTW, I have NO problem understanding them. I just right up front tell them what my price is for accepting the shop and sometimes they are allowed to put in a request and other times they have a price limit that they can not go over.
