Which browser works for Alta360 website?

I'm trying to submit reports, and Firefox doesn't work -- it keeps saying "A page is slowing down Firefox. What would you like to do?" If I say "cancel it", then Alta is GONE. If I say "wait", then the page goes totally dead.

I've asked Alta, with no response.

Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks!

I use Google chrome on my deskrop. For most of their shops I enter the info on the mobi audit app, then pull it up on my desktop using the website when I get hone to look it over before submitting
I asked them over a week ago. The person I e-mailed said she was forwarding my e-mail to a supervisor.

I did finally get the report done (on Chrome), but it was such a struggle.

I do so WISH I could use the app!

Cease - ehats the problem with using the app...you have a smartphone? Right? I think the website has instructions on how to set it up.
Is your computer memory getting clogged up? I was just thinking it might be time for you to delete some stuff, run a defrag and do some other maintenance. If 2 browsers are running slow it miight just be the puter.
I never have any problems using FireFox to report Alta shops. But if htat doesn't work just try Explorer & Chrome. If you can't do it with any of the three, it is not the browser that is the problem.

Me? Use an app?

ROTFLMFAO!!!!
I use Chrome. I like Firefox for certain things, but it does have a tendency to gobble up memory and not want to let go. If you want to stick with Firefox, my suggestion is to close Firefox completely (all tabs), wait a minute or so, and then open only one tab to file your report.
cease, do you have a smartphone or not? What's the point of having one if you don't use apps?

Look, I had a flip phone and I fought getting a smartphone for several years before my family badgered me into getting one. At first it was a little challenging, but I figured it out. You can too. As far as this particular app goes, it makes these shops so much simpler and I am sure that you can get someone to help you with it. I know you said your scheduler was not responsive with emails, but perhaps contact someone else at Alta. Try Stephanie Light or Matt Dumas at Alta and I am sure that they would walk you through the process. Call them. They are there today.
There's a sort of "sister" browser to Firefox called Pale Moon....I use that one, because it uses up much less memory. 99.5% of the time I have no problems. Once in a very rare blue moon I have to go to Chrome or Firefox to enter something, but most of the time Pale Moon works just fine. You might want to try that one as an option.
As far as apps go, apps are to smartphones what programs are to our old clunky computers. They are just programs to make using our phones easier. Not harder. Give one a try!
For basic data input, I find the app easier overall. It took me a bit to get used to toggling between app and laptop or desktop though because things don't perfectly sync in real time like they do with ht iSS platform or MF.

If you started in one format and switch to the other, you may see the dialog box asking you to choose which version you want. Don't think about WHAT you just did or WHERE. Always choose the newer version as you go back into it. But then ideally, you won't work with many interruptions and have things incomplete to get that prompt.

I also tend to do what I can in-app, especially if any reporting is a basic pick box, minimal or optional comments. I like the red alerts that cue you visually for what is missing at the left margin. When you do it all in the desktop, you do the check and you get the prompt that something is missing, then it can be like searching for the proverbial needle because you don't get the red flags there like a Sassie.

It is through apps that I began to get into mystery shopping more. My first smartphone was a Windows phone, an HTC which I loved. The software did not fight my natural abbreviations and give me goofy autocompletes like Android does in my texts.

When I went Android, I had an HTC first and now have LGs--two of them--which I love.

I still use apps a lot with those little gigs because they add up at the end of each month and can be a no-brainer way to round out a route if you are there already or just pick up some odd cash while out doing your normal errands or shopping.
The problem with the apps is the horrid RA in my hands. I have no fine motor coordination. I was able to use field agent because the app has a nice LARGE space to tap on; I can't get my fingers to tap on icons or tiny spaces. Same thing with GeoVerify. So easy to use!

Three fingers on each hand are twisted and useless. And hurt like bloody blue blazes.

Someone suggested using a stylus, I have an Apple iPhone, don't have a clue where to get a stylus and how to find one that works with Apple. And not sure if I can HOLD a stylus and direct it without fine motor control.

Sometimes I think the RA is an excuse...as I am truly just flat-out tech challenged, LOL!
Also, Ceases, I want to tell you that I had a friend who wanted to start mystery shopping. So I helped her get signed up with MF and Maritz and Intellishop to begin with. She couldn't even upload her ID and things she need to start so she just gave up and quit. So you put yourself down a lot but you are killing it! You have kept at it and figured a lot of stuff out. Just keep going! smiling smiley
The Apple Pencil is a stylus designed for and compatible with newer iPads. It is not compatible with current iPhone models. You would need a third-party stylus that’s compatible with iPhones. Here are some examples. Most major electronics retailers should have demo stylus’s on-hand. Your cell-phone carrier’s stores should also have some available that you can test on your phone.

There are various pencil grips that fit on a stylus to make it easier to hold and maintain accuracy. You can find these at any office supply store or in the office supply sections of Target, Walmart, etc. Back to school shopping times are best to find many pencil grip products. The rest of the year, the options on the self may be limited.

If you're still using the same 10-year-old laptop, your browser issues are likely the result of your processor and memory. You may need to adjust your internet options, firewall settings, disable some unnecessary start-up programs, defragment your hard drive, update drivers… Difficult to tell without looking t how your laptop is set-up. Might be worthwhile to take it to a computer repair shop and pay $50 or so to have them look over and adjust your settings for best internet performance.
All of the jobs I have done for them has been through the GigSpot app I've never had a problem
cease, you can get a stylus from the dollar stor or Big Lots. As for holding it, you can hold it between your thumb and forefinger or between your fingers and use it that way.

Are you going through Gigspot.com that's where I get all my Alta jobs. I use Google Chrome without any problems.
In the Spring of 2017, I began experiencing an inability to enter narrative into reports of MSCs using Shopmeterics with Firefox as my browser. I changed to IE8; the problem was solved. I phoned Shopmetrics, only to be told that it must be my computer. A few months ago, I purchased a new box, with the exact same problem and, of course, their position is that it is still my computer. My solution: I use Google for reports and Firefox for all other browsing. In my 22 years online, any requests for assistance from Internet companies has always been met with the same comment, "It must be your computer."
If you have a smart phone you use applications. (apps). Your phone came with certain apps in order to function.

Cease, I would try these steps: make sure Microsoft is updated, clear cookies, restart. I use good ol' IE for reports. I do not like Edge. Takes care of a lot of ills.
Holy Cow! I downloaded Pale Moon, and ZIPPED, just ZIPPED, through that Marketforce report! Till it came to "images", and it stopped cold. Just like all the other browsers I've tried.

I have decided it's my ISP. I took my laptop to the library, reports went through just fine; took them to my neighbor's, and the reports went through just fine. It's NOT my computer, or (LOL!) my computer's operator.
