Coyle have no loyalty to their shoppers

Do any of you feel that? I have helped them out a few times by completing last minute assignments they had pending. Last time they messed up on the guidelines for which I had to take a loss and got penalized for. Now they won't assign me inspite of being one of their consistent / dependable choices in my location. Any input appreciated.

I want to preface this with the fact that I have never received a Coyle shop, even though I have applied a few times for the "easy" dinner ones.

My only thought here if you were a go to person, was that there was a miscommunication on the one shop you got penalized for. Do they think it was bad guidelines? I ask because if they agreed I don't see why they would have penalized you. If they didn't, that would be the reason I am sure. They seem really strict, so I would not be surprised if they had a one strike and you are back on the bench type of rule.

Hope I helped.

It would be more accurate to say that some Coyle *schedulers* have no sense of loyalty. With that I would agree. Others, however, value their better shoppers.

My experience has been that the entire company is a big pile of donkey doo. Perhaps it was just me, however they're the only company that I think is a big pile of donkey doo so it's not like that's a trend or something.

I have been a loyal shopper and like their shops, and do them regularly. Lately, last 4-5 months, few things happened that I did not expect from Coyle. They seem to got more tight with money maybe, pay and reimbursement. I am kind of not as eager to do their call shops because of lower pay (from $15 to $10 because they, mainly, eliminated few Yes/No answers) They recently did not reimburse me for a second “appetizer” (shared-style restaurant that I have done two times before) I will still do shops for them but will be more aware, I guess.

I think that's probably the best approach to dealing with them. I agree they have been tightening the rope on finances recently...but that's really an extension of the tightening up that's been going on over a decade.

Part of it is just the story a company that's getting bigger each year and doesn't have the time to care about individual shoppers or clients anymore. Rather than fight it, I take the assignments that work for me and no longer feel bad about declining ones that are not a good fit. They still pay consistently, and as long as you follow the guidelines, even if they are in error or obviously give you away as a shopper, they will accept the shops.

When things get too tight for good shoppers to accept, or the editorial bills are greater than the fees they save from cutting costs (and I see that happening in some places already), the system will have to adjust....
Quite a shame really because they will lose quality shoppers this way. I know of some shoppers in my area who are being assigned but I can't imagine them being able to do a good job. They are just going to have to settle for mediocrity.
Coyle sucks!! I did one shop for them maybe 5 yrs ago, and they were awful to work with. They changed the parameters of the shop, kept asking me to revise my answers, and didn't respond to me in a timely manner. Just poor communication all around. When it was all said and done, they had the nerve to give me a bad grade on my report. I'd never received such a poor mark, and when I questioned it, they told me that they weren't like other MSCs, and maybe I wasn't cut out to do their shops. They only had to tell me that once. Haven't been back to their site since.
I learned a lot from their restaurant shops that require Comprehensive Chronological Narratives. I would apply for multiple clients monthly. It was years before my first shop for them, months later I had a few more. Over a year before getting 4 over two months, then a few random since then. I turned 56 this year and aged out of their guidelines.

Sorry to hear that they won't have you as a shopper anymore. It's their loss. You're talents will be better served by another client.

I have done a few shops for them over the years. Last time I applied for a shop and had some email exchange with a scheduler, I was told that the first job with them was always hard to get, except that it was not my first job with them. So, after that, I don't even bother applying for their jobs.
