Does anyone here participate in the BVA online shopping project?

I rec'd an email a few months ago asking if I would commit up through the end of the year, but I also saw a post on this forum from someone who was told the project was done (for HER). My guess is that that if your numbers are good & you want to continue, there's probably work thru the end of the year. I mean, they kept upping my shops and now it's continue until further notice. The work has very little to do with shopping and more to do with metrics. You CAN do it smiling smiley

SO they keep upping your shops.. They lied to me and said they would up my shops after 4 weeks. It's been about 8 weeks. I'm going into my third month I'm still at 4 ms and 10 phone/emails and Brittney refuses to tell me why I haven't moved up yet and only answers me once a week. So when I needed something or needed to ship something that wasn't for donation and to get approval I would have to wait until the next Wednesday for an answer.
Jade, I mean no malice at all when I say that this situation doesn't sound promising. The times I've had my shops increased, it's usually preceded with the phrase, something to the effect that my shops are satisfactory. If it's been 8 weeks and your shops have not been increased from four, try re-reading that manual. Also, re-read any emails that provide procedural instructions. There's still time, but you may have to pick yourself up. It almost sounds like your lead has given up on you, but you can turn things around. The team has been so polite, much more than we are used to here in the States. I have had good results treating them in kind.
Got paid. Only paid 145.88 for the month's worth. (44 tasks) I emailed my shopping lead asking when I would get money for the shipping that I spent. Probably going to stop working with them after I get these last few packages and ship them.
My shopping lead wasn't helpful from the start. I would ask her questions in one single email, in a nice way. Tell her when I had an item that needed to be donated, etc. I would only get a reply on Wednesday for the most part. I will just find another mystery shopping job I can do hopefully.
Yeah no she said that my pay that whole 145.88 was including EVERYTHING I spent on shipping sooooo i think i'm being cheated.
I had went back looked at the contract and put it together. Yeah, I wasn't paid what I was suppose to be paid... I'm extremely upset.

Be sure to ask for the SUMMARY. This lets you match up the ticket numbers with what you've been paid, which as you know do not necessarily fall within the same pay period. It is common for tickets to roll over into forthcoming months until the returned item credit is posted, the charity verifies receipt of the goodies, etc. Just saying, I was expecting more money is too vague. But, if you can say something like.....How come these ticket numbers have not been paid? That is something concrete that they can respond to.
Seen the summary they MAINLY paid for the CS things and not the MS things that I did only 4 of the 20 MS things.
Miss Jade, if pmt wasn't rec'd for your shops, consider the following possibilities: has the seller refunded pmt? has the charity rec'd the pkg and had a chance to record the gifts? does completion of your task fall too close to end of month to pay you this time around? were all emails/ph calls correctly documented in the task before being submitted? are the tasks on both different platforms being closed out correctly? Next time you do a shop, take your time. Really look at the screens and pay attention to what you are reading.
No one likes to feel cheated or like they are not being heard. I'm sorry you're going through this. I am a mere worker bee on this project, just like you, but if you have questions I will try to help you.

I don't know what you (or anyone on the project) is doing, but $3 for a "task" does not sound reasonable for work in the USA. Phone shops pay more. It sounds like you (and anyone else doing these) is being taken advantage of. Seems more like a bad "work at home" exploitation of people who are at home or in some other way disadvantaged.
The $'s reflected are of someone who is struggling with the project. Hopefully she can turn things around with helpful comments and support form the forum + her lead, of course....
I recently received payment for July and August, my start time was close to the end of July. I reconciled my shop completion log with the summary provided to me for the payments. I find all is in order. They have paid me for all my completed tasks and also reimbursed shipping charges I incurred. The only exception was the tasks completed near the end of August that will most probably be on the October payment.
yJust BEWARE of this company. They are very unforgiving with mistakes (no pay) yet they have technical problems that are really inconvenient, and give you no grace about it. I do the work, but don't like the way they treat me.

Literally they told me they had a problem for a week the day before they said it i took the tasks they deleted them because of that "problem" on their end. If i get the rest of my mom in October then good im just not going to keep doing it especially since i wasted a lot of money and I only made 2 mistakes that I received an email about. But that shouldn't have impacted the rest of the tasks i did. Making about 3 dollars for driving 45 mins into town just to make only 145 for a month with multiple 45 min drives.

My lead never talked to me or tried talking to me. My lead never wanted to help me nor was i struggling i completed the assigned tasks with only 2 mistakes so... yeah.
They wanted me to push their project on my campus and i told them /maybe/ after i tested it myself. Im glad i didn't push it.
Ok, my mistake - I thought not getting paid for what you thought was owed was a struggle. It won't happen again, Jade.

Did any other shoppers get an email yesterday that their shopping tasks were reduced effective 9/16 ? I have had a low error rate lately, so it's not the quality of my work. I am wondering if they are winding down the project. Of course, no information was forthcoming from the TL. Any information you may have would be much appreciated!
Interesting, how long has you been on this project? Maybe they want to bring in a new perspective, I’ve been working on this for over a year now,
you will always get the short end of the stock on exchange. it NEver is in our favor. IT is in Euros
JadeZin, I did these a while back and found that it took a while for them to QA the shops so payment always seemed behind from what I expected but I do believe it eventually caught up. Additionally, just a suggestion to maybe see if there is a pickup option for returning the packages from UPS/FedEx/USPS vs having to drive 45 minutes to town.
