Sutter Compliance Shops for 17 year olds

My son and I just completed our first round of the tobacco compliance shops in September. Now there's nothing up on the Sutter board AT ALL - like NO shops - for October. I've been seeing the shops for a very long time and now we decide to do them and they seem to be gone. Anyone know what's happening at Sutter?

There are compliance jobs for 17 year olds? Are you involved in the job at all or is it entirely them?

It’s pretty much them but there is a form you fill out too. I never left the car. I guess you are there as “the adult” in this contract. I had a nephew who had no qualms about doing these and made some nice money doing them.

You are supposed to enter the store as well. It is a requirement of the job.

My experience with these jobs is that you really want to be in the store, especially for the second part. Things don't always go smoothly and while a 17-year-old boy might be physically able to handle themselves, it's not a position you want them in. You want to be there to help de-escalate a situation and help the teen walk away if necessary. Plus adults seem to be better behaved when they are being observed by other adults. We didn't have any real problems but they are revealed compliance shops with, I assume, consequences to the store and employee when mistakes are made.

The tobacco shops limit each person to a few per round. They also do not shop every location that is listed - they shop them until they reach their quota of locations.

I wondered if that would come up. I did these many years ago and apparently there has been a change in requirements. All my peeps have long since aged out.
