Thank you in advance.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
The short story is they are a great company to work for. Pay and reimbursements are very fair, the schedulers are accommodating and the editors are too. I do not know how they handle editing of poorly done shops.

Hired. I don't think so. Mystery shoppers are not hired. They are engaged. Employees are hired. Contractors are engaged or contracted, but not hired. It is extreemly rare for a firm to employee mystery shoppers.
Hey, did someone send you a large check claiming that they represent Ardent? There are scammers out there sending fake checks that look real to the bank but later they bounce. The real Ardent doesn't send out checks until after the work is done. That's how real mystery shopping companies pay...after the shop report is complete, edited, and accepted by the client. And payment is about $10--$30 an assignment and takes a few weeks to sometimes a few months to receive. Additionally, like Rosseau posted, MSCs do not hire shoppers. We are independent contractors. I'm just saying...something strikes me as odd with your post.

Edited for typing on my phone.

This does seem like an odd post. Maybe the OP was hired as an editor or administrative assistant and is a direct employee rather than a mystery shopper? Or this may be a scam using the Ardent name, like JASFLALMT posted. It's very odd for a mystery shopper to think he was "hired" by Ardent, especially because of the way Ardent works. When someone signs up with Ardent, there is no response until they have shops and training scheduled in the area. Once Ardent contacts a person who signed up, they contact them with training, not with an assignment. No assignments are made until the person has gone through Ardent's training.

That said, OP, Ardent (as long as it is the REAL Ardent, not a scammer using their name) is a great company to work with as an independent contractor. I can't say enough nice things about them. They are my favorite company. My only complaint is that they don't have enough clients.
I was previously an editor for Ardent. Editors are ICs for this MSC. Also, it's a family run business, so doubtful anyone was hired as administrative.
I am curious too but I can understand a newcomer saying they were hired. Hired is a generic term and those not in the industry could easily use that word and feel they are very part time so that word did not bother me. In addition I recently read a msc review in the Mystery Shopper Magazine put out by this website which reviewed Ardent. The reviewer said s/he had never worked for Ardent but had done extensive research and then listed at least 4 or 5 areas they had jobs in like hotels, banks, retail and such. I commented to the review story but thought perhaps in other parts of the world or country they had such jobs. In my area all we have currently are the Burger shops. Perhaps the reviewer for Mystery Shopper Magazine reviewed a fake site? Or does anyone have additional types of jobs from ardent in their area?
I'm with you, Sandy. The Mystery Shopper Magazine article was plain wrong. Ardent has a burger shop and I am not sure if they still have the oriental shop located only near the DC area, but there are no hotels, banks and retail.
I have Tracey's (the owner) contact information, I could send her an email and ask, but AFAIK they have only ever had food shops.

Might be a good idea to give her a heads up or maybe contact the site owner and let them know so the article can be corrected. Otherwise they will have lots of people signing up and then wondering why they never got a job since as far as I know their jobs are by invitation. I know some of you know how to contact Jacob? to let him know.
Sorry.... I dont know the specific words. This is what they said: "we hereby confirm your entry as one of the candidates for the role of a Secret Shopper/Survey Agent."
we hereby confirm your entry as one of the candidates for the role of a Secret Shopper/Survey Agent. Is what they wrote. Sorry for not using the right words
Definitely wasn't Ardent, I promise you. They would never use the words you quoted in your post:"we hereby confirm your entry as one of the candidates for the role of a Secret Shopper/Survey Agent.". In fact, the owner, Tracey Estes, is so hands-on she probably would have called you or emailed you personally, or had one of her family members contact you. And any emails sent would have come from @ardentservices.net. Smells fishy, like these people (not Ardent) are trying to set you up for a scam.

Question: did you go to the Ardent Services website to sign up or did someone randomly contact you? The real Ardent would not contact you unless you filled out an application on their website.
No one is faulting you for your choice of words. We were just concerned about you getting scammed.

Yes I checked the security details for the welcome letter and also had a text because I didnt reconize the sender.
Sorry for any miswording
They don't send texts. I have never gotten a text from Tracey, Deanna, Corey, or Trish. Who texted you?

No one is faulting you for your choice of words. We are concerned that you are being set up for a scam by people misrepresenting themselves as Ardent owners/representatives.
Its ardent inc
This is what the head of the message said:
Good day,

Your secret shopper application has been approved. Attached is our welcome email, kindly go through it and act accordingly.
Did you go to the Ardent Services website to sign up or did someone randomly contact you? The real Ardent would not contact you unless you filled out an application on their website, and then it would have been by phone (live phone call, not text) or email, and they would immediately inform you of training dates in your area where you would go meet with Ardent representatives for training on one of their restaurant shops at a restaurant.
So you got a random email from this person without going to the Ardent website? There is no Henry Walker at Ardent. If you did not go to their website and apply, you would not be contacted by anyone at Ardent. If someone sent you a random "recruitment" email, it's a SCAM. They are trying to set you up. Report this person to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission).
Did this "Henry Walker" send you an email from the @ardentservices.net domain?

Why don't you email someone at the real Ardent Services about this? Here is the email address: questions@ardentservices.net
Thank you the email address is ardent
And also security info said the same thing so I thought it was real.
Also I had singed up for a few..honestly thoight it was bs.
Now I know
Thank you all
Also you might not want to jump down someone throat for something they had no idea.
No one is jumping down your throat, we were trying to help you avoid being a victim. Do you realize how many people come in here AFTER they receive a large check and wire money to someone or send a bunch of expensive gift cards, only to find out too late that the check was fake and they are in serious legal and financial trouble for passing a fake check?

You might not want to jump down someone's throat for trying to help you.
Okay. You see how the email address has ltd? No one at Ardent has ltd in their email address as part of the domain. This scammer is pretty sophisticated and has created a domain to con unsuspecting people. Email questions@ardentservices.net and ask them, they will tell you the same thing.
