About Coyle Hotel Visits

Recently signed up with Coyle, I am intrigued about the hotel visits for certain places such as London, Paris, Berlin. Ive done mystery shopping for about 7 years for companies such as MarketForce, GBW, Tern, GFK, Bare and have a few questions about them.
1) Can they be used as a city break?
2) Are the reports time consuming/have much chance of being rejected?
3) How quick are Coyle at reimbursing you?
4) how far in advance can you get them? 3 Months?

I'd love to hear others experiences in the hotel visits to see if they are worth it?

1) No way. Yes for your guest not for you.
2) Very time consuming
3) Depends
4) Completely random. Don't plan vacations or time off around them.

1) Can they be used as a city break? No. For a 2 night stay you might get 3 hrs of free time to leave the hotel. Expect no free time if it’s your first time shopping. I am going to a handful of cities in europe soon and definitely am NOT mystery shopping hotels there.
2) Are the reports time consuming/have much chance of being rejected? Yes very time consuming. Low chance of being rejected if you follow the requirements.
3) How quick are Coyle at reimbursing you? Usually the charges are reversed within 3 weeks or less from when they approve the report.
4) how far in advance can you get them? 3 Months? In my experience they’ve been assigned only a couple weeks or even days in advance. I apply months before and they just sit there.
If you've never done any of their phone or restaurant shops, you've got a low chance of being accepted for their hotel shops. They don't often assign hotels to unproven shoppers, regardless of how much experience you have with other companies.
Unless they are super desperate. I was recently assigned my first two night stay with them. It was a long report, a lot of photo requirements, and details to remember. I'm glad I did it so I know what to expect in the future.
I did a two night hotel shop for them in my city a few months ago. It took me over 8 hours to complete the report and it got sent back to me at least 10 times. They are tough. The company is very detail oriented and I don’t knock them for that. Just know what you are getting into. I have done hotels for other MSC that are not as intense but still overall they take a lot of work. So many pictures! I would never do this on a vacation I think it would ruin it. It is hard to get picked but I recommend applying fit and doing some other shops with them first. If you do a good job they will consider you but do go with more experienced shoppers first.
They aren't worth it unless you're getting travel pay, which has been scarce as of late.

Worth clarifying that sometimes they don't reverse the charges, but repay through the normal Coyle reimbursement cycle, in which case you are reimbursed the end of the next month (so end of Dec for any assignments done in November).
