Why Do I See This MFI Message Sometimes?

"The shop records are locked by another Shopper or MFI Employee. Please select another shop."

Is it when another shopper is in the process of selecting that shop? I didn't think so, because I've seen this message for shops up to several hours. It's always a bummer, because the shop has a great fee that I want too.

But, when I click into the shop to accept it, I see the above message. At first, I thought it was due to someone else browsing the shop at the same time as me, but who got their first.

But, then, I'd see that message last up to many hours and think ...well, that's weird, could they really be browsing it for hours? Could it be a shop a scheduler has "reserved" for another shopper? But, if so, why would it be listed on the job board?

I've received emails from MF stating that a job is held for me for a specific time frame to self-assign. They are offering me the job and holding that job for me. I think that during that specific time frame that job is being held for the shopper to self-assign, everyone else sees the message you are seeing. This is what I am guessing. Even though I've never been able to self-assign because the link I am provided never works, I still keep receiving them.

It is my understanding that either a scheduler has opened the shop, which locks you out from seeing it. It could be a shopper just opened the shop, which locks you out from seeing it. smiling smiley

Any idea how long another shopper can "hold" that shop, SD2? As stated earlier, I've seen that message stay up for hours. Maybe it was a constant stream of other shoppers. But, if it's just one person holding it up, then that would seem unfair.
The person holding it may be a scheduler. I have gotten e-mails from MFI schedulers before stating they are holding a shop for me if I would like it.
The scheduler is holding the shop. I've been on the phone with a scheduler haggering unaware a specific shop was on the board. When I went online to use to Make Offer Tool, I wasn't able to.

gotcha, thanks!

Any idea why they send those emails to YOU specifically (when others might do it for same rate)? Is it a shopper rating thing?
