Field Agent app taking over gas shops

I just saw that this app is apparently going to start gas station shops that require a safety vest. Does anyone know which brand (s?) they are taking? Not thrilled to see this.

I have not used this app yet, so I appreciate this reason to find out more about the assignments. smiling smiley

I have not seen the gas shops yet but I use FA for fill-in audits on my routes. I love it! Pay is lower but the reporting requirements are minimal, and I like not having to do paperwork when I get home. They pay by DD within a few days. The eitors there actually listen to shopper suggestions about what needs to change on the report form...the big box store audit has changed (for the better) twice now.
I just see it as a disappointing downgrade for gas shops, and it makes me nervous. They said pay will be “around $10” which is very low for a revealed safety vest type of audit.
It is a legit app. ANd it pays. It you Don't like it don't use it. But I said it a couple of years ago apps were taking over a bunch of shops and it is true.

This is the ONE APP I have managed to learn how to use. I still can't use it fully, as I haven't yet mastered things like taking screen shots, which some of their gigs require, but I have used it to successfully complete 4 very simple assignments. The app actually works. Pay is super fast. I would DEFINITELY consider gas stations on it, to at least try one to see if I end up being on-site 45 minutes, like I currently do with my reveal audits.

More like $3-$5, knowing them.
If I had one guess as to which brand this might be, I think they play low fiddle where they are now, so can kind of make sense for them.
Who do you think has the potential client now?

Orange and blue station with the big gas company. They just seem an afterthought behind the others. Safety vest is a requirement for them. Just a guess, and nothing more.

The others who require the vest seem too complex a shop with their requirements to settle with Field Agent.

FA pays less but they also seriously pare down the requirements. I have never had an audit with them take more than 20 minutes, reporting time included. Since I can do more locations per hour with them I actually find that my hourly pay is about the same. Since I don't have to go home to write reports, I can put in more hours. For me it's a win-win.
It’s for Exxon Mobil. Ugh.

I don’t have a problem with the app itself. My problem is that I regularly perform these audits for $30-$40 with the current company and that will come to an abrupt stop once the app takes over.

Where are you getting this information?

I received an email from the FA app.

Is it possible it's not for the brand itself but for a franchisee in your area? That's not unusual.

Not in my area.
One big drawback to app shops is internet dependability. I often do not have reception in remote locations so it is necessary for me to take all the information and input it later in a computer.
this is horrible news. FA pay is crap. do we know that the normal msc that does exxon mobil has lost the client?
I have 26 to do this week.I'm thinking it's either a test area or it's a franchisee corporation testing their own locations.

I'm thinking it is something line that. The standard EM inspection seems out of FA's league. Too complex. So either EM is dumbing down the requirements, or this is a different type of shop EM is doing with FA.

I don;t loathe FA, just the fees are too low, and I hate not being able to pre-schedule a visit, and can only have two hours after choosing one. That's the main reason I don't do more with FA.

I have to drive so far to get to any of my shops, that FA is handy. I turn it on when I get there, and look for local assignments. I LOVE that they pay so quickly -- it means I can use that money soon to go out and do more shops!

Same here, they have definitely won the contract for these jobs, undercutting the MS companies.
There are at least 87 ICA violations in this thread.........

Bgriffin I disagree. Field Agent is a merchandising app, not an MSC. We do not sign a standard IC contract with them so nothing to violate. This has been discussed before and others reached the same conclusion. No one linked the clients to a specific MSC.

I see them on Field Agent now. They pay $10 and require up to 25 photos and 21 easy questions. You also need a safety vest. There were about 60 in my area the other day and now there's only 3 left.
I mean when will they leave the MSC they are with now? I live 25 or 30 miles from everything. I downloaded the Field Agent, but don't see anything around here. I live in an area where there are not a lot of the stations mentioned.
This is a special signage project. It is not the regular audit. You can do both while on site if you see fit. They are going for $10-$15 in my area.
Since I don't do many regular gas shops, the ones you talk about with the green, blue, yellow, etc. I did 30 of these. They were super fast. I got early dibs and when released to the wider field, no more. I think I used up the quota or what was left was snapped up. These are likely not the typical audits. Signage. Special project. I could not have been happier for the time spent and money earned. Waiting for clear views at busier stations was the biggest "challenge." And they do respond to suggestions. And anytime I have had an atypical experience, I add comments in the final field or rare, but if needed, contact support. It is a great filler for me too. It is a way to not double dip, but pad a route if in a store or passing by. You are typically checking a product for a client, rarely anything specific to a store who may have you shopping there for other purposes. The way I use this, I have no conflicts. I will earn multiple, multiple hundreds this year, and I typically cash out once a month. but earnings will vary during the course of the year. There are always slow months. Take the surveys, try products and provide feedback.
If anyone does not see work in any area, it adapts to where you are at with geo-tracking. Go to profile or settings to adjust radius. I know when I open iSS, if I get one or two blocks from my house, I see many more things open in my primary city. I don't get there much for work, but some MDs, including our pediatrician. I would happily do a valet stand shop while I nosh and sip at the bar a bit for a flat fee.
