Gapbuster Rant

Oh no. I'm going to do two shops for them tomorrow. It'll be my first time...hmmm... wondering if I should just cancel them.

No don’t cancel. Just be prepared for their follow up questions which are usually easy to answer. If you are not paid in two months, ask them about it. Everyone here seems to be eventually paid but it sometimes requires being proactive. Their shops pay fairly well so you have to decide if it’s worth the hassle.
Thanks for your input kenasch! I did the shops today since I was in the area and it was fairly easy. Let's see when I'll get paid.

I just did another shoe shop for them. It seems that each time I do one of these the report changes. In the past I have been frustrated by the report and the ability to accurately portray what occurred on the shop. I am happy to report that the latest version of the report was well structured and relatively easy to fill out. Most importantly, I was able to give a complete description of what occurred. Of course, with this company, I would not be surprised if they still come back with some questions for clarification. However I give them kudos for apparently listening to shoppers and improving the report. On another note, I was paid for my last shop with them without having to follow up.
They’re as bad in Australia, too ???? someone hadn’t been paid for September jobs at the end of December. I didn’t get my November job payments until two weeks ago. I’ve rarely been hassled by editors, but the low pay which takes forever to come is a huge turn-off.

Whoever runs this company must be raking it in...
As predicted, I did get an email with some follow up questions. They were easy to answer but they were also covered in my initial report. I wound up restating what I had already described in the report. Hopefully they will not come back with more questions.

Interesting take. I understand some complaints about this company (odd surveys, late payments, follow up questions), but low pay is one I don't get. I'm doing a $40 shop for them tomorrow that will take 20 minutes and less than 10 for the report. $80 an hour is tough to beat!

I hustled in November 2018 and did a lot of shops and finally got paid in January 2019 after constantly sending out inquiries for my money. Now they put my account on temporarily suspended and no answer why. Don't waste your time with this company.
I hadn't worked with GBW for over 2 years but in January I accepted 6 nice-paying assignments with them. I got requests for some odd follow-up clarifications on a couple of them but addressed them immediately. They responded quickly thereafter with an acknowledgement of the update and a gracious thank-you. However, it has been 10 weeks and I have just now submitted my 3rd request for payment, all of which have been met with crickets. I'm not ready to write off the payments quite yet, especially reading the comments from some of you who have had similar experiences and still gotten paid, but I don't know....in my experience, late payments/payment issues/slow or lack of correspondence are all just harbingers of more of the same. As soon as I receive payment for my January work, I will be deactivating myself permanently. They're just not worth the effort.
Hm

I just did a shop for them yesterday and it was invalidated because I didn't use the fitting room. I was honest about it and offered to re shop. I've been MSing since 2006 ish and this is the 3rd time EVER that I've had a report not be accepted.

I'm positive that they still used my report, but they declined paying me.

The thing is: They have so many shops in this area that are NEVER picked up. I get calls from them several times a week; and emails too

I have done two shops for them in the last six months. I never shopped for them before. They bug me like crazy to pick up shops. It seems like they are quick to bug people for shops and are quick to ask for more information, but are slow to pay.

Ugh

I know I'm just ranting. I just really, really hate bad feedback. Thanks for listening smiling smiley
Can you see if the shop has been reposted? If it hasn’t been, that would be a signal that they are using your report.

It's not reposted (!) :/
This company continues to disappoint. I agreed to do a shop tomorrow and received an email assigning it to me this morning. I just went to their web site to review the instructions and saw that it was listed as cancelled. I did not receive any notice of the cancellation. I have sent an enquiry and an email to the scheduler. I only accept shops from GBW after getting paid for my last shop as they take forever to pay and only after constant requests from me.
The scheduler replied that she had no idea why the shop was cancelled and that she would get it rescheduled. The shop is back as active but at a much lower fee than was first agreed upon. I told them I cannot do the shop at that low fee. Be careful with this company!
