Market Force - QC Inquiry Concern

I received an email today from Market Force regarding previous shops I've made for one of their fast food clients. The claim is that I consistently "score low" for one location. In particular, I completed a shop with the client a few days ago where the quality of the food was entirely unacceptable according to any standard.

The text of the email seems to imply that I might have a bias against the client, either interpersonal or against the client as an entity, and that I am reporting "low" results because of this bias. The truth is, simply, that if this location serves fresh food cooked according to the established standard, they score well. Unfortunately, I do often end up with food that is not fresh, sometimes having stale/not-fresh components and an off-taste. As a result, this particular fast food chain is not popular in the area I live in and I rarely see other customers patronizing the location.

Have any of you dealt with this situation before? Were you able to successfully explain yourself?

Sometimes the objective of a MS program is to identify and fix exactly the kind of thing you're reporting. Other times, the path of least resistance is to shoot the messenger.

Reply to MF saying exactly what you've said here. Assume that the client will read it.

Banished for what? Honestly assessing the client?

I am tempted to stop doing Market Force shops for this client but, alas, I do have one scheduled for tomorrow with them.

When their food is good, it's really good.

Read back in posts for them. Especially the older posts. You will see that you are on your way to get the nasty bye bye bye email.

I had a similar issue with a fast food company--the one where servers wear skates. MF sent a nice email asking whether anything was wrong, and did I like rhe company's food. I answered truthfully. They removed me from that company's shops in that metro area, but I can still shop tbem elsewhere. I was disappointed because i really liked their food when prepared right. But I realized it was what the client wanted. I still shop for MF to this day.
OP: My "Crystal Ball" tells me you likely won't be shopping for this client much longer...tongue sticking out smiley
Yes, I can say that I am one of the banished. I got an email telling me that I was either too hard or too easy relative to other shoppers and that due to the high security of their system, they could not even tell me which one. They expected me to finish the 6 shops I: had already been assigned to, and then I was banished and told that I had no recourse.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I got the same email with the bizarre verbiage. It's a long form letter. I wonder what we did to get that letter.
One rule, once they figure you out, is two family members CAN both shop but not have deposit to same bank account. You might be ok now until they figure it out.

It sounds like we're dealing with the same client, yes... My email had very similar verbiage. Not too heartbroken - there are so many others.

I'm more concerned about being "banished" from the MSC, not the client.

Solution : Write it off, work for another company. Give em' a big F! I've given lots of bare minimum companies an F. Works well.

I had a complaint like that once years ago and I explained exactly why my ratings were what they were, with pictures (I take pix of all the food, whether required or not) and offered recordings of the conversations I had with the server as well. With that in hand, my reports were accepted as good and relevant and the manager of the eatery changed shortly afterward. Food and service improved with the change in managers.
Unfortunately, I've found with MF if you report to many problems at one specific place repeatedly they don't like it. They prefer the glowing reviews. I will report problems if they are only minor. Anything major, I don't. I do this for the money, not for fun. I know its dishonest and not the reason the client is paying for this, but if I'm completely honest about a place with a failed shop, the consequence usually comes down on me, not the place I shopped. It's not right and it's not fair. It is unusual for places to completely fail a shop, so I rarely have to be dishonest, but it happens.

I recently gave a FF shop two low scores in a row a weak apart. I was feeling uncomfortable about it for the reasons MrsChaney mentioned. The location usually does so well but both times they had issues that couldn't be ignored like spilled liquid on the floor observed by staff and left unattended. I worry this makes me more likely to be cut from MF next time they thin their herd, but I try to always be ready for the day that happens.
I honestly report the truth. Like @pordener, when questioned, I stood by my reports. Never had any issues. There are multiple shoppers going to the same location each period, so maybe the OP's reports are not lining up with others? MF is just trying to figure out who is telling the truth.

@MrsChaney, you have just admitted publicly to falsifying your reports when you feel it is convenient. You may want to rethink the benefit of divulging your strategy here for all to see when there are many MSC owners and schedulers that frequent the forum. If I was one of them and knew you worked for me, you would be immediately deactivated.

proudly shopping in the D.
I've reported major problems. That is what we are paid to do. Report the truth.

I'm not worried about that at all. I'm more likely to be deactivated from negative reports. Besides, my name isn't Mrschaney.

I have reported problems at locations any time I've encountered one. I have never had any push back regarding my reports.
For me it is only when I have negative things to say about a specific place over an over. I have one FF place that just will not fix faulty equipment or make an effort to be friendly. The food tends to be presented messy as well. I was honest many times for this particular place. Then I got the email from MF asking if I have a prejudice against the place. They wanted to know why I had consistently negative reports. I learned then, to just report the broken equipment that is never fixed and the messy food I have photos of. I leave out the less than friendly service. After a year of the same things being reported, they still haven't fixed the problems and I doubt they ever will. Why should I jeopardize my spot with MF for this place?
Personally if I consistently went to a location with many major issues, I would stop shopping that location. I would not continue to shop there and falsify my reports. We are paid to report what we observe and if you fear negative ramifications to your negative reports, then I wouldn't take that particular shop at that location. But that's just me.
I reported long timings to get my food over and over at one location. They never got faster. MF never questioned my report. I would not falsify a report.

Yes, I dealt with it with MF when they had a big burger chain (which has since stopped shops). They claimed that my DT time was wrong. Well, it was always (and still is) over 5 minutes to get through this DT. They wanted my car description. Sure, dark gray 528i. They must have checked. Never had another issue and did not get banned from that location either.

There's a Chevron (not a MF client) that disputes my scores every time as well. They often call two months later and ask what I was wearing. One of these days, I am going to reply, "Stilettos, sports bar and volleyball shorts." hahaha So, now I take photos (not required) and save them to my phone. I am waiting on a call regarding a February shop (no soap in the restroom, trash overflowing, etc). They'll dispute it.

Just be prepared when you know that a particular client is going to fight it, or just skip that location and skip the hassle.

My experience, too. I believe in always reporting truthfully and sometimes I get questions. I've been asked what car I drive, to describe myself and tell what I was wearing, to describe my companion, etc., so they can pull the video. Since I've always told exactly what happened, it has never concerned me to have the video pulled. I've written some very, very bad reports, including at least one that got someone fired, but I have never had a bad report invalidated. I will admit bad reports are far harder to write than good reports but I call 'em like I see 'em, good or bad.
How do you remember what you were wearing a month ago? I can't remember what I wore yesterday unless it was something really uncomfortable.

I could say the same of you.

You don't have to be too specific about a clothing description. I always wear black slacks and a short sleeve shirt. In cold weather I wear a black jacket. I say that, don't identify the shirt color, and describe myself. They have the time so I wouldn't be hard to find on video.

Nice job with the quotes. Tricky, isn't it?

Frankly, I don't need to lie. MF is pocket change. I do these in my spare time. I make less than $1500/year from them.
To the OP:
I received my 1000 completed shops certificate more than a year ago, so I have obviously been shopping for MF for a few years.

It did not take me long to figure out which client you are talking about. I decided about 3 years ago that the pay for shopping this particular client was not worth the risk of being banished from all MF shops, so I found a solution. I stopped doing shops for this client, since our objectives did not mesh. There is a way in your MF page to delete forever (until/unless you change your mind) a client from ever again showing up in your "find shops" list. This is all I want to say publicly, except that you are jeopardizing a sensitive relationship. PM me if you need help deleting this client.
