Performed $80 Mystery Shop for Coast to Coast Scheduling - No Payment

Hi friends,

I performed a targeted, very in-depth mystery shop at an upscale tile store on Nov. 15 that I have not been paid for yet (42 days later). The mystery shop company is Coast to Coast Scheduling Services. Apparently CTCSS doesn't pay their shoppers, the company requesting the shop pays the shoppers (?). That's what I was told by my Scheduler at Coast to Coast. She said payment should be coming from Proliance and that *I* needed to follow up with Proliance as to where my payment is - even though I've never heard of Proliance or had any contact with them before. I just e-mailed the contact at Proliance that she gave me so I haven't heard anything back yet.

Does anyone have any experience with CTCSS? I'm starting to have doubts that I'm going to get paid for the hours of work I put in to this shop. This was a rush shop with a $50 bonus, and in my haste to complete the shop for CTCSS as quickly as possible, I failed to look up payment terms, never thinking that payment wouldn't be coming from Coast to Coast like it does with other MSCs. Any advice welcome.

I have worked for them, yes, they are a scheduling company and do not handle payroll....they only schedule jobs.
You need to go to the MSC's site and view when payroll is do and write them if there is a problem. I have never heard of this company, it is not fair to blame Coast to Coast Scheduling.

Live consciously....

You must be new to shopping?

Yes and no. I did mystery shopping 12 years ago and recently picked it up again. I've never not been paid by the MSC directly. I've been paid by Second to None, Intellishop, and ath Power all directly. So it never occurred to me that Coast to Coast wouldn't be paying me directly. I signed up with Coast to Coast, not Proliance, so I find this surprising and confusing.

You were informed correctly by the scheduler. It IS up to you. The ones that you name are MSCs. Scheduling companies are NOT MSCs and do not pay you. So whenever you take a job assigned by KSS or Coast-to-Coast, for instance, be sure to find out who THEIR client is, i.e., who the MSC is. You are running a business now. Independent schedulers, also do not pay, so find out who they are are scheduling for (the MSC). It helps to put the assignment on your calendar as "Mighty Bank" for Informa, scheduled by xyz scheduling.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
When you filled out your report, that is the company you go after for your payment. Coast to Coast just fills the assignments for the MSC.

I filled out the report ON Coast to Coast's site!

Thank you for the tip. I will log it that way in the future. I didn't realize when I accepted that this was just a scheduling company and not a mystery shopping company (which are also a scheduling companies, in my experience!). I also filled out the report on CTCSS's site and had never seen the name "Proliance" ANYWHERE until the CTCSS scheduler stated in an e-mail that was the company issuing payment.

{Adding mid-research} The contact e-mail that my scheduler gave me to follow up on is to Shoppers.mx. I just re-read the shop guidelines, it looks like the MSC is Shoppers.mx.. not Proliance like she originally stated. It says:

"Payments will be issued on the 28th of each month for all correctly completed assignments from approximately two months prior".

I think I have my question answered now. I had asked my scheduler a few weeks ago when payment would be coming and she said it would be coming from Proliance within 30 days of shop date. It seems she gave me inaccurate info, and I trusted her and didn't bother to verify her info before posting here. Now I know the difference between scheduling companies and MSCs. Thanks everyone.
