You eat that much pizza? What was the benefit of the gift cards?

No problem. I'm in the same boat as sandyf - I bought $100 worth of gift cards in December.

$100/$12 per shop = 8 shops
I could have bought $150 in gift cards
With $100 I got 4 free pizzas, which were great stocking stuffers for two teenagers.

Ah, okay. I do rewards like that with one of my convenience stores, but the benefit is really good coffee. I'm wary because the programs come and go.

If you have a relationship with your scheduler you can ask if they know if the contract will be renewed for the next year. Sometimes they know. And for the Holiday bonus gifts usually you can wait until Dec 25 or even 31st to buy them. Some contracts end in Dec. I explained why I wanted to know to the scheduler. I do not think they mind at all if you do this as long as the msc you are dealing with lets you use gift cards. ACL allows it.
I don't have any issues with ACL. There are only a few shops that they manage out here in the PNW and I pick and choose depending upon my appetite and their bonus as it gets toward the end of the month.
They call $5 a bonus. Why do ACL's shops when I can do other restaurant shops $100 and up generous reimbursement plus $15 fee? Yes, This other MSC calls $15 a fee, while ACL calls a measly $5 a bonus.

Simple.

For a $15 fee, you might spend an hour writing the report. For Coyle some shoppers spend 2-3 hours for $15.
($5-$15 an hour)

For an $8 fee for a pizza with timings, I spend 15 minutes tops writing that report.
($32 an hour)
I won't do any of them for reimbursement only. I'd rather get a McChicken or a 99 cent bean burrito and eat it on the road. I'm not spending my life writing reports for food.

I don't do fine dining for $15 fees. I do them for $50, and I find tons to do every single month. I also am not fond of reimbursement limits, so I pick jobs that don't have them. They limit what I can order, not what I can spend. The only way I'm doing a Coyle dinner is if SteveSoCal is writing the report. smiling smiley

Not everyone has issues with ACL. Just deactivate yourself. They won't change their fee structure. I have worked for them for nearly 20 years. It's not going to change.
I do a chain of frozen yogurt shops for them. Only a $5 fee, but I get a lunch for myself and a friend, and the client's bonus program is generous, so I also get a lot of half price (or less) lunches. I can knock out the report in 10 minutes, and I am not a touch-typist. btw The client features a ton of healthy toppings, as well as not-so-healthy, so I can indulge almost guilt free.

I too love their frozen yogurt shops. And I do a gourmet pizza restaurant in my area that's really great because it's a takeout shop, and the report is super short. Also I can order the pizza half-baked, take then initial photos, cook it several hours later when I get hungry, take additional photos, and eat. The last one was a lunch shop and I didn't do the second bake until 7 p.m. The MSC has no problem with that at all. And this is reeaalllly good pizza. The last one I got had chicken, spinach, artichokes, kalamata olives, black olives, green olives, mozzarella, feta, fontina, garlic, olive oil, and tomatoes with a garlic butter sauce drizzle over the crust edges after the second bake. For the $40 reimbursement I can get a 13" gourmet pizza and two side salads to take to work for lunch over the next couple of days, all for about $36 which leaves me enough room to give a tip. I love not having to dine-in and write a report about timings, service, and dining room operations. Writing a short summary about the ordering and experience and pickup experience is perfect for me.
I wish they had that client in MY area :-)

I never thought to ask the MSC if the contract will be picked up! Another shopper bought a bucket of BWW gift cards (not shopped by ACL) and the program ended.

$5 here too. I might do one for the online order shop which presumably has less observation requirements but I won't be doing the regular shop for the reduced fee.

The pizza shops are back but the fee was cut - again. And no bonuses. No thanks.

Shopping SoCal and Maui.

Sneaky. I didn’t even notice that

I had to take a double look at it when I saw them posted LOL $8 was kinda pushing it a little with all those timings....$5 is a little low for me. They pretty much flew off the board though
Oh man, I didn't pay attention to the fee cut! Signed up for one and thought it looked strange. It did drop from $8 to $5... no wonder they are still on the board!

But still kind of enjoy doing these, as it becomes 2 meals for me. Still an unnecessarily long report for retail pizza...
I won't do those for 5, that is insulting for the actual amount of typing they want you to do

Orlando - lightly shopping NC
I would not do them for the $8 so I am not doing them for $5. I always wait for a bonus and only do this shop maximim 2 times per year. (Maybe 4 now thay there are 2 locations here). Just too much work for so little pay. I also did not notice the fee reduction, but I also never take them at base, so the base pay makes no difference to me. If bonuses aren't forthcoming, then that will be the end of that.
