So I see a bunch of new standees finally showed up in the theaters. Somebody I know with Vision has 6 different ones. Looking on Movie Measures new website, I don't see any. Are the standees not on the website yet? Or did MM not get any? With 6 showing up in the theaters you would think they got at least one.
Another standee hits the theaters. Makes 7. See if we can list them all, Arctic Dogs, Harriet, Knives Out, Midway, Spies in Disguise, Terminator Dark Fate, and Ford vs Ferrari. Most of them paid $50 or $55, one was $25 and the other $20. Most are November releases so only about a month out.

So MM didn't get any?

Looking on the website, I'm not seeing anything to do with installs yet. I guess that hasn't been setup yet.

Doesn't look like it. Vison got crushed though. I had to turn a bunch down because I already had too many terminator ones to do and couldn't do the Midway and Knives out standees to.
I can't remember 7 hitting the theaters like this. 3 or 4 sure, but 7? 3 have 11/1 release date, one the week after, another the week after that, Thanksgiving and Christmas. So 4 are a month or less out. So not much of anything for a few months and then boom.

So has Disney been putting standees in the theaters. Last thing I did was back in June so I don't even know what's in them. Maybe should go by one and look. They all know me. Hi, I'm just here checking out all the standees I didn't get to do.

See if I can find out what movies Disney has coming out. Maleficent, Ford vs Ferrari, Frozen, Star Wars, Spies in Disguise, and Underwater. Interesting, we know Underwater was Fox. Checking, Ford vs Ferrari is Fox and Spies in Disguise is Fox. So that's why those standees were still available to do. Possibly in the future those will be gone depending on what happens to Fox.

I looked through PDFs of the directions. Didn't see anything that would even take 2 hrs. Looking at the pay, they appear to have been good money makers.

Ford v Ferrari I don't think is getting one. Underwater went through MM. Spies in Disguise I think went through Vision for some work, but not all. Maleficent got a standee through I think Impact. I seem to recall they do the "Disney" Disney work. Doesn't look like Star Wars will get one. It would be out by now I would think. Same with Frozen 2.

Terminator took about 2 hours due to those damn letters. Paid pretty good though.
Oh that's right, I forgot since I didn't get to do any, Terminator had 3D letters. Those are the worse. Ford v Ferrari is just a simple flatcard.

I was just checking to see if any of them were Fox movies to see if the Fox standees were still being given to outside companies. So far they are. Will Fox get absorbed and those standees taken "in house"? Fox was 3 out of 7, so about 40% of the work could go poof. Not that I'm getting any of the work currently.

Hm, if a lot of the work disappears, might the rest just decide to go with one company instead of spreading it around. MM might get shutout.

Good thing I'm just doing them for fun these days.
Hard to say so far. Obviously they have not been yet. I guess we will find out next year.
MM finally gets another standee for a minor movie. It's just a simple flatcard. As best I can figure out, there were only 2 locations in GA. Did MM get it because Vision couldn't be bothered with it? Unless something changes, it's pretty much over for standees.
I see Martketforce has a few lobby checks. One is just to check on a one sheet and standee for Parasite. MM didn't get the standee. I hadn't heard Vision got it. So who did it? The location was one I use to do when there use to be work and gets a lot of standees. Unless somebody came in and did it, it didn't get done. And unless it's something simpler than a flatcard, it won't get done.

Unless it's shake it out of the box and it's done standee, (there is one like that, unfold it, do the double stick tape, done) Marketforce isn't doing it. It only pays $8. Not even worth getting in the car for, let alone putting a standee together. So who did it if anybody?
A "print" is pretty much a reel, for better terms. Not each screen has an entirely different set of trailers. Your feature can be shown on 5 screens but only 2 prints are showing. Hope that helps.
Do you know id Vision Media has any work in Florida. I've done a lot of work for Certified but as you know their work for standees has pretty much dwindled to nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No clue. You have to sign up to find out.
Do you have a link on where I could go to sign up? I have looked everywhere and can't really find information on this company, I have signed on with several other companies but none have really paid off so far. Thanks for your time.

MM got some Parasite standees? Apparently about a week after Certified did lobby checks to see if they had been put together. As best I can tell it is only at limited locations. It's just a simple box, $15. Once again, did I get an email about them? No. I have about 25-30 theaters around me.

As best as I can figure out, they may have sent out some emails on the 30th saying they wanted it done by the 31st. But some people didn't get the emails until the 1st and I guess were expected to have a time machine. When questioned about that they said, Ok, Tuesday which would be the 5th.

So did MM get very many locations? Were they the back up to whoever was suppose to do them? Certified didn't do them. They just looked to see if they had gotten done.

Of course the person I found out about it from also does work for Vision and was insulted by the $15. He's like, they pay $20 for a flatcard. I had to point out to him, what's it going to take you, 30 mins? Sheesh. Give me 5-6 of them and I'll go knock them out in one evening. I look at doing a one off for $15 as an excuse to get paid to go to the grocery store. You swing by the theater to pickup the $15 for a few mins work, than go to the grocery store. And you claim ALL the mileage as a tax deduction. If I had done that location I would have gotten about $20 on the mileage deduction thus making the $15 tax free and still had $5 to take off additional income and gotten paid to go to the grocery store.
Oh, Parasite is a Korean movie. They're doing a slow roll out adding screens. Started showing in the US on Oct 11th on 3 screens. Jumped to 33 screens the second week. Than 129 and this week 461. So far $7.5 million. So when Marketforce was doing lobby checks, they would have done at most 129 theaters. I could have told them at the one theater I saw needed checking here in Atlanta it was not put together unless they sent somebody in there to do it. So at most MM would have 461 theaters, but probably really just a handful. So is this another one where Vision couldn't be bothered so then MM got it?

Came out in Korea May 30 with total box office so far $72 million. France was June 5 with total box office of almost $12 million. Worldwide so far is $101 million. Most countries under $2 million. [www.boxofficemojo.com]

Rotten tomatoes is 99% critics, 93% audience. After reading up on it, the heck with the standee, I want to go see the movie.
Dm your email so we can send the parasite locations to see if they are overlapping or email assignments@movie-measure.com ASAP. Thanks!

Wow, this could shake things up in the industry.

DOJ moves to scrap decades-old movie distribution rules
Nov. 18, 2019 5:46 PM ET|About: AMC Entertainment Holdings... (AMC)|By: Jason Aycock, SA News Editor

The Justice Dept. is moving to throw out the "Paramount decrees" -- which would upend decades of regulations covering movie distribution.

It's proposing an end to 70-year-old consent decrees that prohibited film studios from owning theaters.

Those decrees are a relic of the past, antitrust chief Makan Delrahim said in a speech to the American Bar Association.

"We have determined that the decrees, as they are, no longer serve the public interest, because the horizontal conspiracy — the original violation animating the decrees — has been stopped," Delrahim said.

In particular, those decrees clamped down on "block booking" -- selling multiple films as a package rather than separately -- and "circuit dealing," where studios have one contract with all theaters under a single circuit. Bans on those two practices now face a two-year sunset period.

In practice, it could mean more rapid consolidation of theater ownership into majors; about half of America's 40,000 movie screens are controlled by three exhibitors: AMC Entertainment Holdings (NYSE:AMC), Regal Cinemas/Cineworld (OTC:CNWGY) and Cinemark Holdings (NYSE:CNK). After hours: AMC +1.5%; CNK +1.2%.

Major film studio owners: DIS, CMCSA, VIA/VIAB, T, SNE.
