I wonder if the payroll problems have to do with the changes in the tax code. The would have to update their system.

I've noticed that their payments have been later in the month than in the past for several months now. Been doing shops for them for 15+ years and it makes me wonder when they are always running later and defensive about it if they are having trouble covering payments. Just my theory.

It might be just common horse sense intruding here, but if it walks like, talks like, looks like, waddles like, has webbed feet like... a duck, it's a duck. As per MF, it's might be something rather less charming, it would seem. Time will tell now, won't it?

I haven't noticed any shops suddenly having the fee reduced after I accept it, and the fees seem to be following the usual pattern of going higher the closer we get to the end of the month.

I have noticed that they seem to have lost at least two major clients in the last year (the big blue cell phone company, the furniture rental store).

I feel like the payroll issues (amounts showing early and disappearing, etc) could just as easily be chalked up to a new person or group handling those functions and screwing up. The month that they post a guideline for when payments are going to show up and they miss it entirely, then I'll start worrying.
The big blue cell phone shops are alive and well and just the other day I saw online furniture rental shops.
I treat that as an offer to negotiate. Counteroffer and stick with your number. A fair amount of the time you will get it.

It annoys me when they call for the hedgehog shop and offer me $4 for the shop that's listed on the website for $8.50. More than one scheduler has tried to do that lately.
Hmmm.. I smell a rat, and the odor strengthens as each day passes with no payment received. Atleast the “payment error” in November was fixed in 4 days (although it took 3 days / multiple emails sent/ and a phone call, for a help desk reply, What they stated came true ... that the posted 11/12 payment was in error and was scheduled to be sent 11/16. (It hit the bank on 16th). And their reply included an apology.
The alarm was that of all the yrs I’ve received DD payment from MF (2011-18) there was NO previous conflict w/payment posted date (on site) and received- in-bank date. So I started calling bank and emailing help desk immediately.
Fast Forward to now Jan 2019. Payment posted 1/11 (friday), by Monday nothing in bank and payment posted was erased from site. Sinking feeling starts and emailing begins. Help desk replied in 2.5 days stating 1/11 posting was “mistake” , then removed and new date is 1/18. (not only is that a week delay, but also a friday.. another sinking feeling). Payment did get re-posted on 1/18, but not sent/released to the bank. Oh, and Monday’s a holiday, how convenient.
How does this make me feel? Folks, this is unacceptable treatment. You can’t tell somebody they’re getting paid on Friday and then not pay, and continue to not pay for over a week later!! With NO NOTICE, even. Why is there not a Huge announcement on the home page????

Marketforce, we had a good thing for quite a while. But now, I can no longer recommend you, including to myself.

Sounds like their smoke and mirrors and twist of lime with eye of newt potion -- or whatever it really is? -- has finally met with good old reality, perchance? Did they actually think they could hide behind the Philippino call center and get away with anything dreamed up by those most hilarious and interesting basket cases?
My payment is in my account this morning (Saturday) as pending, but is available to me.

My payment for December shops arrived this morning, too. That's full payment 19 days after the month ended. That makes MF one of the fastest-paying MSCs. I don't understand all of the hand-wringing here.

I think the problem is they sent out the notice of payment on the 11th, and said they was an error. That along with the recent issue with IntelliShop and Red quanta adds up.

I found this thread in search of others that may also be noticing the shady practices of MF payroll/accounting (lately). From your post, one might think you stumbled upon the thread during a trolling venture. Or do you really expect us to feel warm and fuzzy -while still holding empty plates?

My payment history shows that it was paid on the 18th, but I still have not received the direct deposit, even as pending. Since tomorrow is a bank holiday, that probably means I won't see it until at least Tuesday the 22nd. I wonder what is going on.
Still waiting to go into my bank.Mine is also showing paid on 18th on the website..so technically theyare still within the 20th date mentioned on the website..I figure we should all get our funds at some point next week.

Shopping Idaho and Oregon/Idaho border region.
I'm having the same problem. They answered my email on 1/15 telling me my DD will come on 1/18. This morning they told me that since "they posted it late on 1/18th, that it didn't go through to the bank on time and will post Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday." I have done a bunch of shops and have more to do that require me to make a purchase for reimbursement. The amt$ is getting pretty big and I don't have the cash to float much longer. I don't want to cancel the shops but what do I do - I've already rescheduled a lot of them! UGH!!

I've been doing the same, moving shops and having to cancel some.
For the past three months I have been trying to reestablish my DD. My credit union changed their routing number and I had to cancel the DD with MF and set it up again. In the interim, I’m back to payment by check. The DD has been in a pending verification status with MF for over 90 days. There website says it should take 30 days. I wrote the Help Dedk and got the following reply which to me indicates they are having accounting problems.

“Our Accounting department encountered an issue with direct deposit verifications and we asked all shoppers affected to reapply. Unfortunately when they reapplied, the issue continued. We are waiting to hear back from our Accounting department to see if the issue has been identified and corrected. As soon as this has happened, someone will respond back to you.”
My account shows payment for all Dec. shops pending, assuming since it is a holiday, it will be in my account tom. I have direct deposit..
I have been doing the same thing. What makes it really hard is I do 50+ shops a month for them, so as I try to reschedule that means me having to 3 or 4 different cities per day for like the last 10 days of the month. I love the money and do this so I can stay home to raise my kids, but these past few months, I am second guessing my choice.
I would ask Market Force straight up after months of late or missed payments, "are you having solvency issues?"
I understand that issues come up. I'm dealing with some at work myself right now. What I don't understand (and I am miffed by this) is the lack of communication form MF about the issues. They should be posting announcements when they are having payment issues and they are not. You'd think they'd realize that they would have fewer emails and questions if they kept us informed. If I knew when I was being paid, instead of worrying, I'd have no problem with them.
Would agree! Most shoppers understand that payment will process between the 15th and 20th of the month. But when you post a date on the website one day and remove it the next day, it leaves one wondering what's going on. A simple message would alleviate numerous questions when such postings occur.
FYI; Payment showed up in my bank account this AM .. 1-22-19. (Good thing, otherwise more canceled shops would happen). Hoping everyone elses shows up today, as well. (And that MF gets their sh1t together!)

Last time I poked deeper, it was some tiddlywinks in England at the helm. Speaking of helm, wasn't the Titanic from over yonder the one that Captain Edward John Smith went down with? Let's all hope that MF leadership is on a more solid footing, shall we?

I'm in a very similar situation. I closed my old bank account and entered my new one's info back in November. In early December, I got an email saying they had a problem verifying my information, so I figured I made a typo and reentered my info at that time. It still has not been verified. It's still just in the submitted status and not even on the verifying with bank status. I have emailed them about it twice now, and they gave me basically the same response they gave you. It's crazy it's taking this long! I mean at least they are still paying by check, so it's not like they're not paying at all. But I strongly prefer direct deposit and receiving the payment a week earlier than I would by check.

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley
