MF Tax Shops

Has anyone done a Market Force Tax shop? I see they have been sitting there for a while just increasing in bonuses. Is this a worth while shop?

I've been watching one that is highly bonused in my area and want to do it. I haven't done one. It's too early for me to get started doing taxes. I have tons of tax documents I am still waiting on. If you do it, I'd like to know how it goes.

I've been doing them for years. I love doing them. And I'm doing one again this year, because I had a W-2 job for part of 2018. Normally, that's a requirement, that you NOT show 1099s showing MSing income, and have at least some W-2 income. They often require a minimum refund, too -- something on the order of a couple thousand dollars.
One year I think the requirement was just a $400 refund.

I do always REPORT my MSing income, of course -- I just tell 'em I'm a "small business consultant" (code is 999999999), and give them the total and a list of expenses. You don't have to supply the actual 1099s.
I am glad that you posted this, cease. I didn't know what the requirements were. I guess I won't be doing it this year because I won't get a refund. I haven't had one of those in years. I have few W-2's because of the merchandising companies I am with and also from my main job. Most of my merchandising jobs give me W-2's but, no federal tax withheld. They only withhold medicare and SS.

Just received my W-2 from my full time job. I may consider this shop, but I haven't heard good things about the tax company. Not trying to be ripped off, even if I do get reimbursed. I'll ask my Dad about this, sine he usually does my taxes.
I have not done this shop but I have heard stories from ex employees of the client in this shop...not personal stories but news interviews and such. The ex employees speak of their main job being to upsell the tax clients on all sorts of things with a lot of pressure put on them to build up the fees.
Last year, Kern scheduled for a tax shop with similar requirements. The client was a bank offering a quick refund. The shopper had to make sure the paperwork was complete.

That's how I found my Tax Dude. It was my best shop ever. The MSC paid $80 for the shop and reimbursed the fees to get my taxes done.
