You can still sign up for 100 MSC's. You never really know who has work there until you sign up. The same issue exists in the States. Once you've signed up for the "15 most discussed," most of the remaining MSC's are smaller and often only have regional work. However, at any time any MSC can land a new client and suddenly, they can have work near you. You find out about that new client/work when, because you registered with them, you get email. Or, sometimes, you decide it's time to quickly check the job boards for those MSC's for which you've never worked.

Then if you are in Canada, there is no way that signing up for 100 companies is doable because many of them do not have shops in Canada even when they say that they do. Or Canadian companies pay significantly more than the American company for the same type of job.
Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
