Check out Amusement Advantage..they have studio tours. There is another company that does some of the oddity stores in Hollywood but I cannot remember who they are right now. I would only go to Hollywood if I had a bus tour shop to take me there. (or if I were a tourist).

Edited as I just received notice of one of those odd tourist attraction jobs in Hollywood...it was from kern.

Oh, lord, I just got an e-mail last week for a Hollywood tour!

Unfortunately, that's about 2,000 miles away, so I just deleted it.

AA is a good start (and I DON'T mean Alcoholics Anonymous).

BTW, it may have been on the job board here (did you know this Forum HAS a job board?) -- it's below, hiding in the drop down menu!
I didn't plan this trip in advance, as I needed to escape the Polar Vortex that hit the midwest. I need to plan differently next time and can definitely get an assignment to cut down on my vacation expenses. Kudos to everyone who lives/survives in CA. What a busy, expensive and fast pace place.

It's just getting worse here. We are being taxed so much, it's almost time to throw in the towel. SF, LA, OC are the worst of all.

Busy and fast paced yes but if you live here and you are of the mind there are tons of free and cheap things to do and even many low priced restaurants with fantastic food. When I read threads from people who live in smaller , much smaller places that think Taco Bell or the equivalent is the very best Mexican food I really appreciate the fact that we have endless small mom and pop restaurants here with absolutely wonderful ethnic foods that are just about the same price as a full meal at one of the fast food not very authentic places.
With the very big exception of housing costs my friends and I have a constant stream of interesting, fun and or educational options, some of which provide free food to all. I had the same experience years ago when I lived in New York and Tokyo. I would read about the high prices but I was able to live very cheaply in all those cities and keep busy and amused and well fed....housing aside. And on the flip side it would be easy to spend a months income in one short evening.
I'm a VIP for the Dr. Phil show, front row seating and fun, free as are many other T.V. shows out of L.A.
Free food fairs often, free days at great Museums. Living in a huge city has it's own rewards. While Amusement Avantage is one MSC that has shops asked for. We have many "Poke" type restaurants (Mom/Pop) where one doesn't have a report and can easily afford. The perks of living here, beside winter weather. althougth driving the 405 freeway is the down side.

Live consciously....

Gee Irene I have never seen you sitting in the front row. I will have to watch closer next time I watch Dr Phil.
Let me know if you can take a guest and I will join you there. In the front row. I want to go on the day they do the Tuesday shows. That seems to be when they most often give the audience some of Mrs Dr Phil's face stuff.
Sandy.....It has been awhile, the very first row is for the guests, about the third row they seat us. I can bring a guest, we just sign up online before...we'll do it after winter. I'll keep checking.

Confero and A Customer's Point of View have tourism type shops.

@Irene_L.A. I say do a Carol Burnett next time you are on and I would watch.
