I work for MMC (Merchandise Management Company) and received an email from a firm called Market Connect Group stating that they're acquiring MMC. They're looking to have existing MMC employees complete "on-boarding" paperwork for them within 3 days. I'm concerned that this may be a scam, as this is the first I've heard of this acquisition. I'm suspicious of the 3 day request for my SS#, email address, DOB, and other crucial identifying information. Their paperwork appears to be legit, they have valid contact names, but still, I would expect that MMC would have sent an email themselves, not this new company. I've reached out to HR at MMC and am waiting to hear back. Does anyone out there have any knowledge of this?
