MSC asking for password to email account.

I am wondering if anyone has ever completed a project where it involves creating a new email address; using it to sign up for several specific product websites; and monitoring your home mail every month and sending in pictures of any product-related mail you receive. The 'catch' is that the MSC wants you to send them the account username and password to the email account. Thoughts?

Yes, I have done that for several projects over the years. Love these projects as usually I typically just get paid and don’t have to do anything but the initial set up.

I have done projects like that for a reputable company. I set up fake emails just for that purpose.

If you are talking about the baby food project... do it! I did that project a couple rounds and it was awesome. My scenario involved buying cand of the food, which I was able to donate to the food bank.

I'm doing this project currently with PO Boxes. Like others have said, almost no work but a nice fee.

Sounds like Mintel. I have done them. You create a new email account only for this purpose. You give them the email address and the password. Very easy. No client has been mentioned, so I named an MSC. There could be other MSCs with similar requirements.

Mintel is a great company, love them!

I am currently particpating in the Baby Mailing Project for Mintel. It is a great paying project with little work. Mintel will even give you multiple opportunities to participate. I am currently participating 7 times. However, one of my PO Boxes is closing at the end of the month. Go for it. As others said these are fake gmail accounts, used only for the purpose of the project. I would not use a password I use for my regular email. Other than that it is on the up and up. I think you will find the project well worth it.

Supplies? Not sure I understand what you are talking about. I have never had to purchase any supplies for their projects. I have done shops where I had to make required purchases and those were always reimbursed. Odd.

I do not have to make any purchases except mail samples to them if they want to see it. They said that they reimburse for that plus pay an extra $10 for that task. What supplies are you referring to please?

You are not on the same project. If you were you would know..... they have many projects.

They recently had a paper towel project. Purchase and ship. No return. Reimbursement for purchase and shipping pay on top of.

I have done their projects that reimbursed for purchases, including when I had to ship items (and I too was reimbursed for shipping) but never have done any projects where I had to purchase SUPPLIES. I don't know what CM is referring to. I have been with Mintel for over 12 years now and have never seen any projects where I had to purchase SUPPLIES.

SUPPLIES is such a general term.

For other companies (not mystery shopping companies) that I do projects for, supplies usually means packing tape, boxes, bubble wrap, dry ice, coolers, Sharpies, etc. If I have to make a product purchase, it's called a "product purchase" and not referred to as "supplies". So again, I don't know what CM is talking about, but I have always gotten reimbursed for anything I had to purchase regarding a non-mystery shop project, including with Mintel. But if CM wants to run away, she can do that and the rest of us can continue to do their projects happily.

Obviously we had different projects.
Mine clearly states no supplies reimbursed. JASFLALMT if you chose to work for free go ahead. I prefer to be paid for my expenses.
I do product purchases for other companies weekly for total reimbursement.
