A question on gas station shops.

If you do a gas station shop for a $10 fee, but you're required to buy gas to complete the shop, would the gas purchase be a write off? You're not reimbursed for the gas, but the purchase is required. Is it a write off?

Well I'm not a tax pro, but it sounds like an unreimbursed expense, and therefore deductible from income. The fact that gas has utility is beside the point.
