I have done some ISC shops but not in awhile. They had some cell phone shops and some high-end purse shops in my area.

Was the email from a sender with an @internationalservicecheck.com address?
Is International service check decent to work with? I was just wondering as I have done a couple shops for them in the last few days and wondered what kind of issues to watch out for if they are overboard lile marketforce for 8 bucks or are on the level like ACL? Any info is appreciated. Thank you.
I like International Service Check. They always have paid me in a timely manner (usually less than 30 days) and the schedulers helpful/responsive. Straightforward reports. They have high-end shops, coffee shops, smartphone shops, and more. If you travel a lot, they have some really great airport duty-free shops, domestic and international.
I found them to be very dishonest. I complete about 200 shops a month, and I've never said that about another company. I did one job with them and deregistered. Never done that with any other company either. I really have nothing nice to say about them

what did you find dishonest about them? Just curious.
My personal experience has been positive.
I have completed two shops for them, the luxury bandbag retailer. Both were fine. They don't seem to have a lot of jobs, or a job board, just the emails. Lately, all I have heard about were the $12 phone shops, which I won't do.

I shop with them sporadically and have never had a bad experience. I enjoy their shops and felt I was compensated fairly.
I've done three shops for them - all for European branded luxury items. I did one when I was a new shopper and it was a mess (long story - but I kept getting assigned the wrong location and then given the wrong survey form). Communication was a disaster. I did two more recently and the shops went very smoothly. In all cases, I received payment promptly and the actual evaluations were straight-forward. In my first experience, I think I just caught the scheduler on a bad week as other reported having great experiences with her.

They don't offer the types of shops I typically seek. However, if the bonus is right, I'll continue to shop for them.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
I do a shop for them occasionally whenever one comes my way. Their report forms are backward and a PIA until you figure out a system for writing them. They are in no way on my blacklist.
I am not going to sign up with them.

They obviously do not respect the shopper who wants to do the right thing by asking questions to clarify.

Also, sounds like cell phone shops is about it for them.
@big_sky_thunder They definitely have more than cell phone shops. That's the shop that they tend to open for all the shoppers. For the other shops, they're more selective and the schedulers tend to contact select shoppers first before opening it to the rest of the shoppers. You have to build a good relationship with the schedulers to get the better jobs (and be able to ask for a bonus/be offered a bonus proactively). The scheduler in my area is super helpful and responsive with texts/emails and understanding when I need to cancel/reschedule shops last minute.
I got the same email, asking me to sign up. I'm already signed up. Presumably, that's how they got my address to send me the email.

They've never had any shops in my area, at least not on the job board, so I've never done one for them.
I have done several shops for them: high end luxury items, cell phones, etc. I never had a problem with their shops or payment.

I did their airport shops, and they hated my reports. I got average grades and lots of feedback. So, OK, I quit doing them. I don't think that they paid very well. I honestly don't recall.

Every once in awhile, they will text with an outrageous offer that I will accept for a shop that I normally can't be bothered to do.
I used to shop for them a few years back. Actually, it was one of the first companies i started shopping for. I did cell phone shops and a few high end leather goods shops. The leather goods reports required some narrative, the scheduler I dealt with was responsive, and they paid on time. I haven't done anything recently, though. The base price for their shops is usually lower than I care for, and the emails they send with available shops is very long with my state (WA) usually cut off the end. I've stopped looking at the emails altogether...
Interesting. I've always found their editors to be pretty lenient. I always get "Very Good" scores. The airport shops I've done for them are pretty much all Yes/No questions. 1-2 sentence comments needed only for questions marked with "No." I think they prefer concise comments and don't want excessive details. Base pay starts at $20+$10 reimbursement, but the scheduler is pretty generous with bonuses towards the end of the month.

I love gfk. Their smartphone shops are the best. They are the only company that I do smartphone shops with

I disliked gfk. Way too long a report for their smartphone shops for too little pay. Ten foot pole list!

I meant to say ISC haha. I haven’t done the smartphone shop with them for years! The submission form would continually freeze, so it would just delayed my report submit time.

GFK was on my mind because in the last two days, I’ve received emails about smartphone shops that I believe are the same ones from ISC....4 max shops for the round, 25 simple questions, and asking about the smartphone listed in the guidelines. It looks like the client may be “testing” them out. I hope that they stick with ISC. I won’t do them for GFK.
I was wondering if there is a relationship between GFK and ISC. I did a cell phone shop two weeks ago for ISC and I just accepted a similar job for GFK today. The instructions are almost identical.

I have had positive experiences with both companies.

There’s no relationship that I know of. The last round of ISC shops have ended. That’s why I believe that the client may be shopping around for a new MSC.

ETA: sometimes I wonder if MSC themselves reach out to clients of other MSC’s to try to get them to hire them. GFK seems to want this short list of shops done this week based on the pay

Yes, I believe they do. I have seen MSC's post "promo" shops where they want their best shoppers to impress a potential client, usually a restaurant. I also think they may try to convey to the client that "their" shoppers are better than the competitor MSC. Little do they know that it is probably the same pool of shoppers. However, the difference to the client may be in the report detail and the quality of the editors. I have seen promo shops for locations that I already shop for another MSC.
" I always get "Very Good" scores."
What does that mean?
4 out of 5?
Just below 'Excellent' but better than 'Good' or 'fair'?
'Stupendous'?
Last listings of smartphone shops

If you have not done these shops at large retailers - they do not tell you that many times you go and they sales person who is trained for smart phone sales and who has keys - are at the store only on a limited shift each day in many areas. I was not aware of this until I did a shops at this retailer. You still have to take pictures, and write a great deal in the report and only get half the pay.

So heads up- if you take these well bonused shops (up to $35-40), call all retailers to find out when the smartphone sales associate is working (day and shift) - then also call to verify they are there on the day you plan to go). I had one that I got the day and time and sales associate called in sick - so another wasted trip.

ISC looks to be done with their round since I stopped receiving emails about them on Sunday. The GFK location list is very small, probably 5-6 shops per state, with many in remote areas (at least in my state). The very limited shops, plus the fee GFK is offering, is what leads me to believe that they may be pitching their company to the client
I have done 3 shops for them. 2 were cell phone shops for a new iPhone. The other was shopping at a high end home goods place.
I did a couple high end shops for them awhile ago and had no problem...since I'm not driving into Beverly Hlls, haven't looked as that's all they had here.

Live consciously....
