Intellishop Oil Change Shops

So.... I've been on hiatus for awhile, doing just an occasional bank shop for my favorite MSC and some restaurant shops. Am jumping back in for the summer, and immediately regret the first shop I took. It's an Intellishop dealer oil change shop. Looked fairly straightforward when I accepted it, but the more I look at the guidelines, the more I worry about Intellishop finding a reason to reject it. It's my first shop with them, and I remember hearing horror stories here about shoppers (ostensibly) following instructions to the letter and having shops rejected. Also, have any of you been offered the tire rotation, took it, and not been reimbursed for it?

I'm probably stressing too much over this, but not only is it my first shop for them, it's my first oil-change shop ever....

Don't worry about it, it's not a hard shop. Gotta love some free oil changes! It's not as easy as their other client that used to have oil changes but it's still not difficult. I don't remember if I took a tire rotation with that shop or not, it's been a couple of years since I did the dealership one. It might be included as part of the oil change service. If you have a question about that you should email the scheduler. Oh, and I have done well over 100 shops for Intelli and never had one rejected (average score is 10). With your attention to detail I know you will be fine. We missed you, nice to see you back!!!
I hear ya, Birdy. I sweat bullets over every "new-to-me" shop, no matter how easy it is.

I've shopped for Intelli-shop for about 10 years now, and never have had a report rejected.

I have done many, many more for Marketforce, and had 3 rejected (all caused by my own errors).

If you have any specific questions, e-mail the scheduler before you do the shop.

And relax. You got this!
They say in the guidelines that you "can" accept the tire rotation if offered and will be reimbursed. So that seems pretty clear.

Thanks!

The one time I accepted the tire rotation I regretted it, since they charged $25 for it and it put me over the reimbursement. They did not tell me how much it was, and I didn't expect it to be so high.

These are very easy, and I always get a 10. Never a problem, and I love it when they include the free car wash!

Yeah; I got the free wash, and they didn't even ask me if I wanted it! And, boy, did the car ever need it....

I had one almost rejected (dealership didn't answer the phone), but they let me fix it. I love these shops.
So, it wasn't as bad as I'd feared it might be. And, wow, the shop was edited within 2 or 3 hours of my submitting it. Holy fast turnaround! The editor's comments were very nice, but it was interesting that he/she complimented me on following the guidelines. Huh? Isn't that what I'm supposed to do? I really don't need kudos for following instructions....

BirdyC - One of my rules is to never seek but also never turn down compliments. And when I get the opposite, I try to remember that "Pride is a renewable resource."

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I like these shops and always take my secondary car, a Chevy Cobalt, in for oil changes when needed using a mystery shop to do it

However, my primary vehicle is a Nissan Passenger Van. I used it once a couple years ago for the oil change and got my shop rejected. They thought it was a commercial vehicle. After emailing and saying it was not a commercial vehicle, I got it accepted and got paid.

Now, I'm seeing that Sprinter Vans are an excluded vehicle, so I'm assuming NPV's are too. I really need an oil change, so I'm going to have to email a scheduler and ask about that

Unless any are reading this forum.... (??) smiling smiley

I did appreciate the compliment, but I'm left scratching my head a little bit. I understand when I get a kudo for a well-written report or something like that. But I hope to God I'm following instructions on the majority of my shops! smiling smiley
