I usually get email notification when MSCs are looking for schedulers. I rarely get any for editor position. At times, I see jobs posted on their website. I would email directly to MSC(s) and express interest.
Amusement Advantage often advertises for editors. If you're not signed up with them as a shopper, I'd do so, and you'll probably get their e-mails when they're looking for schedulers and/or editors.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
To each their own, I guess, but both times I was an editor I was miserable. Too low of pay for too much work. I suppose if I had no transportation, was disabled and unable to drive, or had some other reason I had to be at home all of the time, I might do it.
A lot of the independent contractor editors that I talk to are stay-at-home parents.

Are you part of the MSPA or IMSC? I see posts up on their Facebook groups fairly often recruiting for editors. MikiNV is right though; I see posts recruiting schedulers more often.

I wouldn't take a job as an editor, either, even though I'm a professional editor "in real life." I asked one MSC that was advertising for editors about the pay structure, and then ran as fast as I could the other way when I got an answer!

I think the pay rate takes advantage of those needing to be home all of the time, and for those that don't, it can be an isolating experience.

I was miserable doing it. I'm a traveler at heart, so sitting at my desk at home reading about other people's travels and fine meals just made me more miserable.

I'm grateful for the time I spent as an editor because it made me a better shopper, but glad that part of my MS career is behind me. My cat disagrees, though. He gets anxiety every time I pack my suitcase...
I just received an email that CSE is looking for editors. I was searching the forum to find information about experiences. So if you are still interested, let me know and I can share the information.
