HS Brands

Argh. Didn't this company used to be one of the better companies to shop for? Lots of shops, some great movies ones and other enjoyable ones with good compensation in the high-end stores and malls. Now, it takes 75 days to get payment? They used to be my favorite! Anyone else super annoyed?

I do not remember the last shop I did for them..likely over a year ago..

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
Yes, a bit disappointed as I cannot get my oil change or an answer as to why. I also worked for them for years without problem, I do feel something of significance has happened to them.

Live consciously....

I did not reveal the client. You'd think a mod knows how to use google if they are unsure.

Michelin isn't the name of any restaurant. Michelin stars are a rating system used by the red Michelin Guide to grade restaurants on their quality.

Removed in error. Our apologies.

I have another company that does the oil shops. It is the same form pays better also. Still takes 70 or so days to get paid. But the last time they left radiator cap loose.

I helped them open a new casino shop a year or ago (not in Vegas) and I felt like they didn't give me enough leniency in the report since they were building it in my feedback/report. The report changed on every submission I gave them. They expected me to change my report for every time they changed the report requirements.

An overnight hotel stay and three hotel shifts and I got NADA in reimbursement from them because I didn't respond in a "timely manner" to their inquiries. I do believe the follow up shoppers benefited from my problems.

One was evaluate the players club on the third shift. The players club closed at 11 PM and wasn't open during the third shift. There was no box to state that so I had to fill out 25 questions and a narrative to let them know that. Also, their shifts aren't the normal 8-5, 5-11, 11-7 or whatever. They were more like 9-7, 7-3, 3-9. Those shifts are still not reflected in their requests for shops.

Otherwise, I've really liked the company on all the other shops I've done for them. Responsive and pay on time and reasonable.
I haven’t shopped for them in ages. However, I do remember their longer payment terms.
Anyone shopping Hsbrand in Las Vegas? Love to hear your experiences.

Why do they keep pushing the retail shops $10 to $15 fee? I'm only interested in hotel shops and fine dining.

Hotel shops and fine dining go to experienced, proven shoppers. If you aren’t from that group or you don’t wish to prove yourself, you won’t get those shops.
I just got an email that said payment for April shops won't be paid until mid July.
Slow pay and the last few months I have applied the jobs are already scheduled even when I jump on them right away.
Good to know. Davis1205 They did not send me an email. I just came here to see if anyone else is still waiting for April $. I hate chasing payments, especially when it includes reimbursement sad smiley

Yeah, this is pretty disgusting. I did a shop April 2, and I'm still waiting for payment.

And according to my calendar, Monday IS "mid-July".

Grrrrrrr.
I sent an email to them about April shop payments. They're supposed to issue payments for April shops by July 15th.
It is imperative that we, as self-employed contractors, understand a successful company must extract as much work as possible for the smallest outlay of money. One of the forms this can take is loooooooong payment periods. During the end of the last decade, Regal Hospitality, a company with whom I was somewhat active, and that paid according to a net 45 schedule, decided to change to net 90. As this was unacceptable to me, I requested and was given my deactivation. It was nothing personal on either end; it was strictly business! Last year, Service Sleuth began paying much sooner, but it appears they now have reverted to a net 90+. That action was either through necessity or they decided any negative fallout would be minor.

On the reverse side of the above, are MSC's such as Trendsource. Their business model is to rapidly pay a fee that is near/at the bottom of the scale. It reminds me of the gal who posted several years ago that she did not care how much she was paid as long as it was quick. As for me, this week I received a $25 meal and a $20 fee for completing a Service Sleuth job. I was not required to have a guest and was given a nine day window for completion. In addition, the report took approx. 1/2 hour. I am willing to wait, but definitely understand those for whom SS is not their "cup of tea."
I was just notified that payment has been issued for my April oil change shop. But it was not thru HS Brands, nor Service Sleuth. I have not done SS in a long time.
Me! I’m still waiting for payment for an April shop I did on April 8. Luckily it was food at one of my favorite places but it’s annoying. They used to pay quicker. It’s now been 90 plus days since the shop and I’m very annoyed as I think that’s excessive. I actually got paid for another April shop I did on the 1st last month so I don’t know why this one wasn’t paid when the other one was paid.
Here's an email I got from my scheduler about April shop payments. They made some error and only issued about half the payments:

Dear Shopper,

HS Brands apologizes for the recent payment delays to our shoppers.

We have corrected the issues that caused the delays and expect to be back on our regular payment schedule within the next 7 to 10 days. At least half of April shop payments have been processed and the balance of April payments will begin this week.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and the services you provide for HS Brands.

Thank you for your continued service,

HS Brands Global.

I owe HS Brands a big apology. They paid my April 2 shop on June 6! That's BEFORE I was expecting payment.

So I formally apologize, and say "Thanks, HS!"
HS Brands always seems to have payment and other problems. I don't look for their shops anymore.
I do 2-4 shops a month, year in and year out, for them and really have not experienced problems other than occasional delayed pay.

Shopping from the Carolinas to New York

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Well, I wish I had gotten any reply to my inquiry as I’m still waiting for my second April shop to be paid. I’ve sent them several inquiries and have had ZILCH in response. I even did another shop for them on Friday expecting that all was well and I’d be paid on Monday. Nope. I guess I’m going to be a little more wary of HS Brands in the future.
I can't understand a company who jeopardizes losing their own shoppers by delaying payment for 60 to 90 days. How can most MSCs pay their contractors in a reasonable amount of time yet a handful seem to want to have you wait months? Contractors are running a business as well. They provide the product on time and within guidelines with the expectation their invoices will be paid net 30-45 days. Would love to hear why this company waits so long to pay their contractors.
I did my first two shops for them in April. One on April 16th and the other on April 24th. It is now 97 days and 89 days for the shops and I have yet to be paid. I had contacted them in June and they told me that their policy is 90 days. I sent them an e-mail today and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. This is a ridiculous amount of time to have to wait for your money.
I also did two shops in April and still have not been paid. if I don't get paid this month I will report them to the better business bureau.
