"ath has sent you a digital check" Legit?

Just got this e-mail. Yes, I did do a shop for them. Yes, the amount is right.

But I wasn't expecting this.

I got one, too. I printed it and deposited it using my banks app. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Yeah, well I'm a tech idiot. Too complicated for me to print it, so they'll mail my check. I can wait a few days!

Thanks for chiming in. I just wasn't expecting it to come in this manner, and wanted to check.

You printed the check? The email I got specifically said that the check had been sent to my bank and would be credited no later than July 3rd. There was no need for me to print it, or to deposit using my bank's app. This is what my email said:
"This check will be automatically deposited to your xxxxx BANK, NA account ending in xxxx by end of day on July 3, 2019.
No further action is required on your part. "

Mine didn't have that option. I guess I could sign up somehow for DD.

But I'm quite happy with a printed check!
I'm signed up for DD through Bill.com. For some reason, I received a paper check. I think the digital check I got, which was through a third party, was a paystub.

I have been getting paid via DD through Bill.com for years. This time I got the digital check. I assumed that this either replaced Bill.com or is the way Bill.com now operates.

Ath has paid by Bill.com which I prefer. This is the second check I have received this way. Not sure what Ath is doing, last payment was with Bill.com. I just printed the check and will deposit it. Ath is bad a communication when it comes to payments.
You would think ath would notify us of the change.

I have that sick feeling in my tummy that I'm about to get hit with a returned check fee. My bank said it went through, but I'm afraid if a DD hits tomorrow I'm screwed. I could not get hold of anyone at ath today. Heavy sigh...
As ath Power promised in their email (which I quoted above), the funds were in my bank account today (July 3rd) without me having to do anything additional.

I got one yesterday and followed the instructions to have it deposited by them to my bank account. I then saw the message that from now on, it will use that info to make deposits directly to my bank, without sending the "virtual" check to me first.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Wales, you're smarter than I am. I read the instructions, but found them entirely too difficult to follow. So I opted for them to mail me a check. I hope that, too, is automatic henceforth.
I deposited mine via my bank's app this time. Will try to figure out how to set up direct deposit next time. I wasn't entirely clear on how to do it when it showed up the other day. *Update**My credit union reversed the deposit. Now I have to see what to do next.
**Final update: I emailed to ATH who connected me to an account rep at Checkbook.io. They are sending me a paper check this time since I had problems with my credit union accepting the check. We also set up auto pay for the future deposits. ATH was provided with a video to show how to set it up but did not share with us.

I did not get a returned check fee after depositing the echeck, nor did I get a direct deposit from ath. Conflicting instructions. Guess I'm good to go.
Update. The direct deposit of those funds from Ath happened over night. This was exactly the timing I was told to expect. All future DDs from them will not need any action by me, now that one has been made.

I printed the check and deposited it. My banker told me no problem. This is the second time I have deposited the printed check without a problem. ATH seems to be going from Bill pay, to check, and back to Bill pay, no reason.
I did not want to start a new thread on this, but I got another email from ath regarding payment. It stated that I would receive an echeck Monday morning (today) I could either print and deposit it or sign up for direct deposit. I have not received the echeck yet. Anyone else?
I read the above post, and about 4 others, then signed out and checked my email. During that short period and new email had arrived stating that Ath had sent me an echeck. Sure enough, when I opened it it showed the echeck and gave me the option of
a. doing nothing, and the check would go ,via detect deposit to my designated bank account;
b. directing it to be deposited to a different account;
c asking for a paper check to be mailed to me.

So, they have done just what they said last time that they would do; that is to set up direct deposit to my account to be the default for future payments to me.

I am in the Eastern time zone. I suspect that the automatic payment email system either slept-in this morning or is operating on a more westerly time zone.
