Mystery Shopper Video Editor Pay

Hi All,

Currently I work at a fairly good sized company as a video editor editing tons of videos per month with many other editors. I was curious what y'all thought the pay should be for a position like this. I currently make around ~16/hr in a major metropolatin area where apartments start at 900/month for a small studio. Wanted some opions so ya. The position is full time. I do have a college degree.

Best,
Editor Guy

It seems to me that with your skills, you could be making much more.

CAVEAT: My ignorance is vast.
If you were getting a job based strictly in your metropolitan area the cost of living would be a factor. I've found with remote positions, and I am assuming yours is remote, the COL is not a big consideration when determining compensation.

This may be why a lot of those working remotely live in quite rural areas with relatively low costs of living. where I live, just outside of DC in a not-so-chic neighborhood, studio apartments in good condition start at closer to $1800 per month, and up, btw. With no parking and no in-unit laundry.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

Are you an employee and get other benefits? How many videos do you typically edit in one hour? I find this interesting work.
I get benefits. I commute to the office this is not remote. The number of videos I edit an hour varies depends on what client I am editing.

Rather than asking shoppers, you may be better off finding a website that compares types of jobs and gives the average salary range based on location. Here is one, but I know there are others.

Yeah, I think we really would not know.

I have sometimes wondered if company employees sometimes think we are raking it in too easily. Just like there are days that I imagine sitting at a desk for a guaranteed hourly rate plus benefits would be nice.

That rent though...gimme just a bedroom for that.
Curious. Does each client pay the same rate/way. or do they have different pay styles for you?
