What an alarmist thread title, especially considering the consternation lately over late payments.

Not the dumbest thread I have seen this week. Not even close.
I thought it was clever.

I think it's clever, as well. And I didn't say it was "dumb". I just said it was alarmist, as "for whom the bell tolls" is generally acknowledging a death. And MF is far from moribund.

What? You mean you don't find discussions of the intricacies of food trays riviting?

Every state works differently. It's further complicated if your pass is from one state and you are in another.

In my experience, which extends for decades, it appeare likely that MF is at a point where they not only do not, but can not, keep the interests of their clients nor their independent contractors at a high enough level. Most simply put, they're in survival mode, and will keep their bank account and paychecks above any and all other considerations, be it client, independent contractor, or anyone but themselves, to the exclusion of the lesser of themselves who are considered expendable. Their call center in the Phillippines, for instance, appears to be falling apart, they can or will not pay independent contractors on a timely basis, and IMHO their days might be numbered. And yes, I just lied, I said might when my actual opinion, based on experience and analysis, is "are very likely." Let's all wish the best for the dear innocents that are so likely to be hurt, especially ourselves as shoppers.

It's not a meltdown unless it encompasses four or more paragraphs of rant and self-pitying diatribe.

Ap7 -maybe, maybe not but nicely written!

Ceasesmith- excellent word! And, thanks to google, I know what it means!
It was punny. tolls... tolls...
It takes a toll on the shopper....

If there is any truth to the dire predictions about Market Force, I do not know anything.

I like the thread title now that I know it's about toll fees. Clever.

That's not what I thought it was about when I clicked on it, and maybe it was a bit myopic to not realize that, but it was probably not intended, so.... shrug.

I see that someone took the opportunity to give dire warnings again with no evidence, so that's fun.

JAS, I'm glad I'm not the only one who recognizes the pattern.

Honny, I think we're all sick of it, along with all of the newly created threads about stupid crap.
I am so glad I'm not the only one.

So when is the next meltdown? I say August, maybe sooner.

Can you guys lighten up a little? Perhaps, being manic depressive myself, I am a little more understanding...the brittle ebullience, then the downward spiral.....just don't read the ones you think don't meet think-tank brilliance standards. At least she (or he) participates....and remarks like the above, I am sure, keep "lurkers" lurking, fearful to expose themselves to such scorn.

On the other hand, you could just look at it a little differently -- like an attitude adjustment? Don't think "Oh, another dumb thread, good grief!"....but perhaps as a bit of levity to lighten your day? Giggles, not disdainful sneers!
My comment was mostly a joke. However it becomes a problem when the thread push all of the actual interesting stuff to the next page. And when I'm trying to read something interesting but have to scroll past 17 2000 word posts to read it, it gets incredibly annoying. I get it. She's bored and needs someone to talk to. Monopolizing the conversation is not the way to win friends and influence people.

Easy solution: post something "interesting" on the "interesting" thread and bump it up....let the others die a natural death....
Agree with both cease and bgriffin. Yes, we can ignore. I'm all for ignoring as long as the usual escalation and victim meltdown doesn't happen. So far it hasn't. Right now the participation is reasonable. On the other hand, one poster monopolizing the forum by starting thread after thread out of random boredom becomes a problem at some point. On still another hand, the jokes and comments have historically set off a rash of long, I'm-a-victim complaints. So, my outlook is that we ignore without making jokes or other provocations that we know (or should know, based on history) will set off long retaliatory posts that lead to time out. If it reaches the point that we cannot ignore, it's time to notify Jacob and let him determine what he wants to do.
Maybe I should dig up the really nasty PM she wrote about me to another forum member who PMed me? Or remember all the times she threw on her histrionic behavior and ruined the mood of the entire forum? How about the times she has attacked people and gotten banned for it (then reinstated when she promised to behave), or how about most recently when she went on an age discrimination kick and said that bored seniors should volunteer instead of trying to do mystery shops? How much rudeness should we put up with before we are allowed to make a few snarky comments?

Actually one of her last posts that went off the rails still remains from last time because it was around the time the mods stopped getting reports of inappropriate posts. She managed to insult the entire forum, the mods and a poster by name. I would link but I have great respect for that forum member and the posts they make and don't want to make them re-live her hateful spew.

Edited to add: Why I bring this up is because JAS made a good point. Sad to say, it's not IF it's WHEN she goes on another tantrum. It's like people are wondering when the egg shells are going to break and what is going to set her off. In the past, it's only taken a little thing like someone disagreeing with her to set her off. However, roflwofl makes good points too so hopefully we'll see what happens. Forgot who said it, but it seems that she is starting these threads as an attempt to "fit in." lol...don't try so hard.
