Blocked on MarketForce?

But are you willing to drive 100s of miles for a route of shops of $50+? Not me. But ceasesmith has to because she lives in BFE and there is nothing around her but critters and a few people (probably critters outnumber the people).

Well, this thread makes me feel quite foolish! I had no idea that the MF shops could go for $50! I had not idea that schedulers could pay so much. I once had a scheduler relationship with MF, but that scheduler kept me at a low rate based on what I had agreed to in the past. The benefit was that they called me to do shops about twice a week and kept me busy at places very close to my home. Now I am reading that some of you get paid $50 or more? Wow! I really need to read this forum more often.

Nope. I am not willing to drive hundreds of miles. My time is more valuable, I guess. I am just grateful that I went through the experience of being blocked from shops for a year. It encouraged me to seek out other MSCs and discover that there are shops that pay more. But I haven't found any for $50!
Maritz does a car dealership that is likely a nationwide shop that pays $50. And that's the base rate. Apartment shops in my area with Ellis go $40 at base rate and they can and will bonus from time to time. Some financial investment bank shops pay that high or higher, and sometimes you can do that stuff online at home (Informa). There are more. Keep digging, girl!
Critters definitely outnumber people.

We have 1 million people, and 2 million cows.

Plus horses, alpacas, llamas, goats, pigs, and other assorted critters!!!

As for driving hundreds of miles, of course I do. But remember it may take me less time to drive 60 miles than it takes a city driver to drive 25 miles! If I didn't feel I was adequately paid for that drive time, I wouldn't make the trip.

My first 7 shops in June were $110 each; my first two shops in July were $200 each.

And so far in July, I have not done ONE MF shop. Every single one of my "make an offers", which I submitted at exactly the same pay I have been getting, was declined.
Oh no, she routes it so her time is valuable, picking up multiple shops but driving an incredibly long distance to do it, often doing shops for multiple companies to fill the route. That's why getting blocked sucked for her.

Is that for most of your whole flipping state? LOL! I know it's not your town...I think you wrote that there was an INCREDIBLY small population where you live...

740. We're a major metropolis -- the "town" 15 miles west has 110; the town 12 miles east has 123.

2/3 of the HUMAN population is in Omaha/Lincoln. Even so, if I wanted to drive to Lincoln, I could do over $600 in two days of shopping.

Garden County has 1,700 square miles, and about 1700 people. If I've got it right, there's about one shopper in every 10,000 people -- so when I tell an MSC there are NO other shoppers locally, I'm telling the truth.

Last month, I offered an MSC a bid of $75 for a job. They turned me down. I told them there wasn't another shopper that would do it for that, and that the only reason I could do it that cheaply was because there were other shops in the town that would make it a profitable outing for me (a mere 100 miles from home, LOL!).

They found a shopper. They paid her $125 for the same job. How do I know? She's my friend, one I mentored in MSing. She called me and told me. She also did a highly bonused shoe store shop (with an MSC that historically just doesn't bonus), and a couple $25 fast food shops. Made a good day for her.

cease, can you make up the MF income by increasing work with your other MSCs?

Yep I am too! I actually laughed out loud because I never did anything to be blocked. I asked when I was getting my pay last month for my first shop ever with them. That was my last conversation with them. I tried logging in a couple days ago since I finally got paid but I'm blocked. It says I need to contact them. For me they're too much of a hassle. I only did one shop for them ever.

Maybe those who are blocked from schedulers can still get the bonuses by emailing in bonus route proposals.
Tried that. No response, and every shop is still on the job board.

Heck, got a Samantha offer, accepted it, and it never got assigned, either! And don't say "Oh, that just means another shopper got it", because the job is still on the job board! Four DAYS after I accepted the Samantha offer!
I too am blocked from MF. They also began declining my "best offers" right before I was blocked, as well. I used to make good money from them back when they offered decent fee's, including before and after they lost the large fast food place.

However, I don't recall ever working with a scheduler via MF... Is that a new thing they're doing or has that always been then case? I did get a few calls from MF for shops, but it was never the same person.

The calls that you got were from the schedulers. They offer the best bonuses. I have never gotten the "Make an Offer" method to work for me.

I use make an offer all the time. I haven't talked to a scheduler in a couple of years.

I have come to believe that ceasemith is the sole inhabitant of Monowi, NE (pop. 1). And the reason her rent has never gone up is because the landlord is...HER!! Just funning with ya, cease!
What I think is really weird is that when some schedulers from MF call my caller ID lists that the call is from the town in which I grew up. Which is tiny and rural. Since I don't know anyone who lives there anymore I get freaked out.
I asked the caller once and he said just a random number comes up but this has happened more than once.
cease, any resolution?

Nope. Still blocked. I was told that I could still work with the overseas schedulers, but when I called them to try to build a route, they said I was blocked there, too. The scheduler I work with most there said she would "escalate" to a supervisor, because she knows I'm the only shopper they have, and they need me.

I'm not sure if it means anything, but several of the locations that I do regularly (for between $80 and $120 each) were on the job board all of July with "make an offer". My offers were declined Those shops have now disappeared, and the jobs are NOT listed for August.

Since they didn't get shopped in June or July, I'm just wondering if MF lost them as clients.

If so, they are "penny wise, pound foolish"; cutting off their nose to spite their face; and all those other good cliche's.
Do you work with any schedulers in Georgia?

"I told myself to quit you; but I don't listen to drunks." -Chris Stapleton
Yep. They are truly "Georgia peaches", LOL!!! Yes, worked with all of them.

This is ghastly.

Those shops I mentioned that were on the job board and didn't get shopped and disappeared? They never did show up again.

I only did $200 for them all of July....I've done about twice that much for them so far in August, so at least they are accepting my "MakeAn Offers". Not enough to build a route, just one here, and one there. But I probably made 40 requests and got 6 approved.

Thank goodness I've been able to fill in with other companies....it's not great, but at least I can pick up enough shops with other companies to make those 6 shops profitable.

Has anybody else heard anything? Anybody else been blocked?

Yes. Still, I'm stunned. I can't say much, because I don't know if MF reads this forum, and I don't want to be deactivated. But I am stunned. I've gone from a "go to" shopper to "don't touch" shopper in one fell swoop. Sucks. I do hope it's not because I have posted here about them. I absolutely 100% understand that we are not to post about them on "public social media", but I haven't really considered the forum as public. I've been very careful to not post anything on, say, Facebook.
I have been banned from shops by them because the on site manager of the Golden Arches saw me giving my food from the first half of the food shop to a person with me back in 2017 and a gas station shop that went south.Still shop for them but doing only Make Offer Shops.

Well, I e-mailed HelpDesk.

They said there was no note on my shopper account that I was blocked.
Did they remove the block?

Nope. Just another example of MF not knowing their......well, I'm trying to be professional.

I am still blocked.
Why does MF ask us to make an offer and continue to decline the offers only to then raise the rate to what we had asked for from the get go? Why are they playing games and wasting time instead of just giving us what we requested up front so both parties can be happy and fulfilled. We do the job, the work gets done and everyone gets paid. It is as simple as that. Why are they not valuing their excellent shoppers? Are they missing the point of that it takes time and gas and some cases reimbursement does not cover everything?

People, stop taking shops below minimum wage, value your worth. Your car needs maintenance (oil changes, brakes, etc.) You have bills to pay just as they have bills to pay too.

Because they are waiting to get all offers in, and, in some cases, using your bid to offer a lower price to others. They want to get the job done at the lowest price possible in order to make the highest profit possible, just as you are requesting what you want to make the highest profit possible. In many cases they are able to get the job done at a lower price. In other cases, they are not and they raise the rate to what a shopper originally asked for. RobG is right on the money. Nobody works free, everyone wants to make money for what they do, and no one wants to over-pay. It's a negotiation with both groups trying to get the best deal possible for themselves.
