How Do You Report This?

When performing the Maritz "Blue" gas station shops, there is a question in the debrief asking about Diesel pumps under the main canopy.

"QDiesel1_Retail – Were there any stand-alone diesel pumps under the retail forecourt canopy?"
Next, if there were, it asks how many and then if they had diesel POP.

So far, no problem. Sometimes there are, sometimes no.

Then, further down, the question is asked about the nozzles:
"QDiesel2_Retail – Did the diesel nozzles have a Synergy Gray or Green Nozzle cover in place on all diesel nozzles?"
Bullet points are added for further clarification:
• This applies to ALL diesel nozzles under the primary canopy (not just the “standalone” diesel pumps).
• The diesel nozzles should have a cover as shown below and include a “Synergy decal insert” (either of the below color schemes are acceptable – gray/green).
• If there are not any diesel nozzles at all under the primary canopy, mark NA.

For the gas stations I have done, I just take a good look, take a photo of the nozzles of the diesel pumps or the mixed gas and diesel pumps.

But then, there is an additional comment: "The above applies to all EM diesel nozzles (not just for the standalone diesel pumps)"
Well now, many of the sites I've done have diesel pumps and mixed gas/diesel that state they are dispensing non-"Blue" branded diesel.
There is the quandary: The alert shopper can answer that "Yes", there are diesel dispensers under the main canopy. The shopper also can answer that "No" or "NA" because they are not dispensing "Blue" branded diesel.

The "Diesel Nozzle Clarity" 2 page notification is clear.

Or is it?

FF, are you saying there is non-branded diesel pumps on a branded pump dispensing regular fuel? I can't recall seeing that but if I did I would indicate "NA". I see many mixed pumps (branded regular and diesel) with correct color covers but no decal insert. I mark that question "no" and provide a picture.

Yes, there are mixed pumps where the diesel side says "not a "Blue" branded product".

I used to take the photo and answer "No" and submit a photo.
It wasn't until an attendant asked me about the diesel pump issue did I understand that there is a small notice about it not being a "Blue" product.
One way of detecting the non "Blue" diesel is that the pump can have a whitish or light part of the pump where the diesel nozzle is located. I now look for that. even the diesel only pumps might have the notice about it being a non "Blue" branded diesel product.

This is a dilemma for the gas station employees. It often is marked off. The employees, who otherwise, have a sparkling review are penalized for a wrong answer.
Just this month I noticed the decal appearing on the diesel nozzles. They are finally getting around to putting it out there. Good, one less photo or two.

As for the above discrepancy, I'd probably make a note about it in the comments and take a photo, just in case.
