Ath Power cancelling shops

Hi, I haven't shopped much for Ath but had one of their shops today. It paid well so I cleared my calendar and decided to drive the hour away to do it. Received an email at 8:12 am - with many exclamation points! - to make sure I didn't miss any aspects. I left shortly after that.

I completed the shop and when I went to enter the report, found out they'd cancelled it 20 minutes after I'd received the reminder email. sad smiley Two hours of driving, an hour in the bank, lost money from the shops I didn't take....all for nothing.

I know this is an occupational hazard but after 15 years of shopping, it's rarely happened to me. Do Ath have a habit of doing this? If so, I think I'll steer away from them in the future.

I have never had them cancel a shop of any type. my suggestion is to write a polite note to the scheduler and tell them that you left immediately after the reminder and completed the shop in good faith. I had another MSC cancel a PO shop after I had completed it, and I wrote and said that I had completed it in good faith. They restored the shop so that I could enter the report and I got paid. The ath Power team that handles the regional green bank is very responsive. The team that handles the national red, whie, and blue bank - less so.

Some years back, ath refused to pay me because their scheduler listed the wrong accounts that were permissible to open for the shop; as that was not my responsibility, I did not back down. When my fee was not forthcoming, I informed them I would seek the assistance of my new bank, their client. In less than an hour, I received a call and a promise of money; it arrived as stated, but we no longer have a relationship. There are some folks who would take the position I had bitten off my nose to spite my face, but my attitude is one where taking it in the rump sets a terrible precedent for life.
You should follow through and get in touch with the scheduler and if she/he doesn't satisfy you go above and contact her contact. Don't be angry, just explain. You should get paid, keep the email and attach it to whoever you have to.
Do they pay by Paypal or check? I am asking because I did a shop and it is showing that I was paid on 11/1 but I did not receive the payment by Paypal and I certainly did not receive a check.

I don't understand Ath at all. I've been a shopper for 8 years and have a good history. I've applied for shops with them for years and out of probably 40 applications I've received 2 assignments. Both assignments received positive comments. The shops I apply for sit on the board forever and even get bonused, yet I don't get them assigned to me. I've emailed them about the applications and....crickets. Such a strange company. I no longer waste my time applying with them.
I currently do shops for two banks on behalf of Ath Power. They have completely different schedulers and approaches. The green bank assigns all of the shops and some get bonused at the end of the month. The green team is great. The red, white, and blue shops seem to list all possible locations, but they must have a quota and when they are filled, that is it. For instance (I am making this up), list 60 locations with multiple options for each, assign the 20 that are needed, keep the rest of the shopper requests on hold because they might be needed if some of the 20 don't get completed. That team is not very communicative.

Shout out to Ath Power for giving me the shop back after I pointed out I'd received a reminder email about doing it shortly before I left home to do it. Great response, hats off to them!
