Market Force Phone Calls

Just curious, does anybody else get absolutely hounded by phone calls from Marketforce? I typically get 4-6 calls a day at a minimum from up to three different phone numbers. It's gotten to the point where I've added all the numbers I've been called from for them to my contacts so I can easily ignore their calls. When I don't answer they'll call 2-3 times back to back before leaving a voicemail (which is extra annoying since my phone is set to auto turn off Do Not Disturb if I get a call twice in a row from the same number, just in case I have a work or family emergency)

Consider answering the phone and seeing what they have to offer. If it’s not enough to entice you, ask for whatever bonus would. If schedulers are calling you, they are often ready to actually pay you. If you want to make decent money in this business, the first step is to answer the phone when MSC’s call.

I only answer the calls from the stateside scheduler. If the overseas schedulers call me a couple of times I will then call the stateside scheduler to see what's up. She seems to have more authority award bonuses than the overseas folks.
Yes, and I very rarely answer the phone for two reasons. One, I know exactly what shops are on the board, generally the same 3 shops that are available. If I want to do one of them, I'll answer the phone. Second, they call probably 75% of the time when I'm at my steady job or doing MS work and the one lady that calls will keep you on the phone forever so it's not just a 30 second call.

The few times I've answered, the price they were offering was either the same as what was listed on the board, or a few times actually less than the price listed on the board. The one time they were offered a higher bonus over the phone it wasn't properly applied and it was like pulling teeth to get it actually paid out.

Online I've never had any issues with the listed payment, and I can do the request an additional bonus, and I can pick and choose exactly what shops interest me and/or are actually worthwhile.

Another thought: If you typically do shops for the rates posted online, schedulers might call you, hoping to get you to do them for those compensation levels - which would increase the number of calls you receive. However, if you start to require higher payments, you might reduce the number of calls you get for "base" amounts and, thereby, only get calls when schedulers have the ability to offer strong compensation.

If you can get to locations that are difficult to schedule, bonuses can get pretty impressive sometimes. I've done $6 gas shops with $250 bonuses before - as have others on this board. This can be the start of a very profitable day route.

It is annoying that they won't leave a voicemail until they call back 2 or 3 times. I do get some decent bonuses on the phone calls though.
I agree about answering the phone (and as soon as I get a call I put the Co name in my contacts) and I did answer MF and negotiated $'s and took a couple of shops. Once I responded though, the phone calls became incessant, as awestover indicated. Also, I was being called about shops I had already declined and even given the reasons. That became annoying. During the first call, at 8:00 AM, I ascertained that the call was from Thailand. While the scheduler was very polite and professional, maybe the culture is more persistent on the phones, lol. I decided that if the calls were important (eg., an editor had a question) a message would be left, or an email would be sent. The good thing about being contacted by the scheduler is that you have someone to speak with about the shop and when they call that's the time to negotiate hard otherwise, this is mere entertainment.
Yes, 2 a day, starting at 8 AM. Same experience as others, offer less than on the job board, ask why I decline the shop. How do i know if the caller is US based or international? My calls come from GA, MI, IN.
I've only gotten one phone call in the past few months, and they were finally willing to give me a fee they had always refused in the past. Phone calls are the only way I'd get decent fees for jobs, International or US based doesn't matter. I assume they are calling someone else in my area that is willing to do the work for way less. I get emails offering me $2 bonus from base pay but that's not worth my time. I think if they are calling you that often you might be in a hard to fill area or are undervaluing your work or both.
One of the overseas schedulers calls me consistently to assign shops. He knows my fee, time preference, and my preferred locations. I don't mind his calls as I profit from them.

Another scheduler, I shut her down when I hear her voice. I remind her that my preferences are under my User ID and she needs to respect that. She never does.

I do get calls from them but not that many times. I have had them call multiple times as you say as well though.
I've actually had to say don't call me for a few days.
