Here's my profit and loss spreadsheet for my January work for those interested in seeing what you can make

Of course!

I can't believe that didn't even produce a tickle in the back of my pea-pickin' lil ole brain!

That explains that. I never got into doing a lot of work for them. Once I went video I didn't go back to other types of work. Being able to travel helps me avoid that thankfully tongue sticking out smiley

Thanks bgriffen for the explanation!

I think your spreadsheet and traveling so far did shops is really cool! I don’t go any farther than about 100 miles out from my home due to my full time demanding government job but I definitely want to travel and shop in my retirement! My retirement will be a ways off as I’m 39.. but I always think it’s so interesting to hear about people’s MS shops while traveling.. thanks for sharing!
Well your spreadsheet looks great, you sure are getting much better fees than I've seen to date.

In my case, video just isn't possible. Yes, the money is there -- but the shops are hundreds of miles away, and even if I did 6 of them a day, it wouldn't cover the travel costs.

The ones I did do, paid much, much more than $60, and were 300 miles closer.

You would definitely have to travel state to state but there is absolutely no reason why it wouldn't be profitable.

Just take the route that I did for example. How much would it take to get to the nearest point on my route and back? Deduct that from profit and youd get at least that much!

If you really wanna try but dont know if its doable id be down for trying to help ya plan a trip. I have a route from cali up to washington im doing and as of now i have no work between chicago and cali and ill still pull some reasonable cash in.

No promises but i think it could be done, truly.

No. I have physical limitations that make it impossible. I only function between 3-5 hours a day (not counting drive time). And I currently don't have transportation, and there is no transportation out here in the boonies.

But the offer is appreciated!

And I DO go interstate -- I cover parts of WY, SD, CO, KS, OK, TX.

But I don't do cities -- which makes video really, really difficult!!

Colorado generally has a really fair amount of apartment video work.

If interested check with Shadow agency and business observations for sure. Also clear evaluations has some video hotels in Colorado as well

I live in the south. Georgia to be precise. I know I "need' to do video but just haven't taken the steps needed to get there yet. I shop the entire state of Georgia, minus the Atlanta/Decatur metroplex-which I do not service. It's not worth my time to do shops 20-30 minutes apart that take double time to travel. For example, going south it says 20 minutes to point b, 38 minutes to point C. In Atlanta Decatur that 20 would be 40 and 38 becomes 76. This means less work gets done but the same amount of time is spent. I shop in the eastern part of Alabama (maybe 60ish miles in), The same with Tennesee. I've shopped in the panhandle of Florida and around Augusta South Carolina. I haven't had any offers for grocery stores that are deadline and will pay 50ish bucks in months. With the reduced pay in Team 6 and being barred from Team 3 now I have limited opportunities to make 50. Dry spells are to be enjoyed since normally they don't last too long in this business. Although this one seems a little longer than usual.
Ps. A scope F here pays $40 with a sketch and $50 with measurements. ( A comprehensive inside /outside inspection with pictures) I don't take a lot of them because they take a lot out of me. (Descriptive inside/outside comments, sketch and neighborhood comments) But I've had to take the last two in my area because I needed the money. One of them the guy was a real jerk. But it is what it is. Out of 250 + inspections I've only had a couple of jerks so it's the price you pay!
