Legitimate company

Hi all. I need to ask if a company I’m getting solicited by (new to me) is legit. Can I do that here?

I haven't shopped with Satisfaction Services in many years, but they are legitimate. BLD scheduled for them when I worked with them. I worked with Elise, who was memorable - in a good way! There's an Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies at the bottom of this page. You can check it to make sure the info you're receiving is from the actual company.

I'm assuming whatever you received from them was via email. If you were contacted via US Mail, it's a scam.
Yes email. Am I allowed to discuss the assignment here to see if anyone else has done it before?
Sehri, you can discuss the assignment in general terms as long as you do not identify the client. Describing the assignment should be enough for anyone who works for Satisfaction Services to recognize the client and the shop you are describing.
The shop is a high paying ticket purchase assignment in lower Manhattan. Is anyone familiar?
I think we need to expand our advice in this forum regarding legitimate companies. We often refer shoppers to check the list of official companies at the bottom of the page. However we should warn that even though the name of the company is on the official list, that doesn’t mean the solicitation that you got is legitimate. Scammers are using the names of real mystery shop companies and producing counterfeit websites as well as spoofed email addresses. Often only one or two letters in the URL or the email address are different. So my advice is to check those addresses very carefully. Most importantly, it is very rare for a MSC to send you a check in advance. It does happen but only if you have worked for that MSC for a long time. If you get a large check or solicitation out of the blue to do a shop with a fee of several hundred dollars it is mostly like a scam.

Sherlock - did they send you a check in advance or offer to do so?
No absolutely not no checks were offered. I’m a seasoned shopper, this one just raised a red flag for me.
Thank you all

Good to hear. Sorry my spell correct in my response above changed your name. I will leave it as Sherlock as it somehow seems appropriate!
Satisfaction Services and purchasing high paying ticket item does not sound correct. Sign up here [www.satisfactionservicesinc.com] and they have an available assignments page and you will see what they have in NY. I see something with water for $85. Shops in Waterloo, Latham Bayshore.
Satisfaction Services is a legitimate company. Their website is very quirky. Find out who the scheduler is and ask for details on the shop. Pam is my scheduler and she is a true sweetheart.

Her email address is
