IPSOS 1099s

I got an email with my supposedly revised 1099 today. There are NO amounts listed!!! I know I collected $541 in fees APART FROM the reimbursements!! Good thing I have my own records!! So PLEASE BEWARE that if you did less than $600 for IPSOS, your 1099 may reflect ZERO DOLLARS!! So odd!! I say that because another MSC I worked for and got LESS THAN the $600 sent me a 1099 with the CORRECT amounts!! So I'm not sure what is going on with the Metrics side of IPSOS!!

If you made less than $600, they don’t have to send you a 1099, and the blank form may reflect that. It’s up to you to be diligent about reporting that income. Not everyone is, and it’s a moot point - it isn’t reported anywhere.
I received mine in the mail today. I only did work for them on the Shopmetrics platform.

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley

YES! That is exactly right, Mousegal! That's why I'm glad I keep my own records on a spreadsheet. Just saying I hope most shoppers are also diligent to do this.

Guess what. That first number went to the IRS, so now they'd better report it. If it was $800 the first time and $400 now, they need to report $400. Not reporting is going to be a HUGE red flag.
Yup, you're right, SoCal, and just another reason to keep diligent records! I know exactly what my fees/reimbursements were for IPSOS, so I'll have no issue reporting it. Just wish they'd get their act together, though.

Thus, my statement...
Each msc must report their own taxes every year. They are reporting whatever amount they sent you each year as a business expense. Should any of the companies get scrutinized the IRS can ask for back up information which may include each of our names. I do not know what the chances are of this happening. Each of us must decide whether we want to be truthful in our tax returns or be "forgetful" of some of our income sources.
Absolutely true. As one of my other consulting businesses, I run a number of high school tournaments. In that line of business, I hire judges on a weekly basis, but often a different set every week. I keep meticulous records, since I record my payments to those judges as a business expense. I don't have to send 1099s to many of them, but I did have a college send a late 1099 to me one year, and the IRS would have billed me for the full amount, except I was able to instantly produce my spreadsheet showing every judge payment, thus reducing my tax burden to nothing, since I had already reported my fee from that tournament.

hi there - revised 1099s will be coming out for the Shopmetrics portion of your work today.

Where do you find them? I don't see them online anywhere!
Mine was emailed to me. I haven't started my taxes yet, but I'm fairly certain the revised one is under-reported.

Sorry to be confused, but is it Ipsos or Ipsos GFK that owes the revised 1099? Thank you!
It is the original Ipsos. I have not worked for the GFK Ipsos so perhaps they had issues too.
