Holy smokes!

The fees I was getting from Ipsos for shops in the boonies dropped when they acquired GfK and I found myself rarely shopping for them any more.... I am concerned that the fees I was able to get for shops in the sticks for MartizCX won't be available now, either. Fewer huge companies makes for less competition between them - and more access to shoppers for each - and therefore less opportunity for individual shoppers.

Oww....my two faves.. I do hope the Maritz shops won't all be going to Presto app.

IPSOS did not acquire GfK and they are not acquiring Maritz. IPSOS acquired GfK's mystery shopping division and they are acquiring Martiz's mystery shopping business. All three of these companies are huge and mystery shopping is/was a small part of their business. Shoppers ought not to be so narrow-minded as to think that any large company revolves around mysyery shopping.
Ugggghhh......... Well, let's see how quickly they run this into the ground like they did green gas.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
True.... but it is the mystery shopping division that affects us...

That is also my fear. Self assigning, or lack thereof. I can't see how they can do the job without the MaritzCX people.
IPSOS had a client that they used to sub out to Maritz years ago when I first started mystery shopping (like 20 years ago) and Maritz scheduled the shops (reporting on their website) for several years before Bare had them on their Sassie site, and now IPSOS has Summit Scheduling appointing those same shops on the IPSOS Shop Metrics site. I am not one bit surprised about any collaboration between these MSCs, it's been going on for a long time.

My one fear is that there will now be yet another group of shops coming from an IPSOS email address. Often times the shop emails are not identifiable as GFK or old IPSOS to me. So far I have not found any sassie IPSOS shops I am interested in but my computer does not seem to understand the difference and often goes directly to sassie rather than shopmetrics even tho I have a different password for each. I have managed to partially train it by now but with another company joining the mix if they end up having three sites called IPSOS that will confuse me and my computer even more. On the plus side, I am not signed up with Maritz and perhaps I will find some wonderful jobs there.
This is big news for most of us. It will be interesting to see how it progresses. My main concern are the many merges that have happened over the last five years including this one. Competition is a financial, healthy environment for us and it has been steadily decreasing. I am glad it was IPSOS and not Maritz.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away
It will, I'm sure, be a lengthy merging process...but imagine the possibilities...no more invoicing?? The potential for weekly pay for "Maritz" shops?? Losing self-assign on those shops will be a huge blow, and it would be nice if they could figure a way around that...this is news...not sure if it's overall *good* but I don't think it will be *bad* (yes, even as much as I fuss about IPSOS and payment dates, lol...I'm sitting here with 6 completed, unedited IPSOS shops right now...grrr)
Time (for me) to go back to FT work over shopping.
It's been a nice ride being an IC. There's no way this turns out good for people who have Maritz as their #1 MSC. Not when you have to "apply for shops" and they try to get everything done in one week, and extend dates out 2-3 days at a time, unlike Maritz, which let you plan much better.
The life of an IC.
Time to grudgingly update the resume.

Yep. I would guess Ipsos is the actual contract holder for several of the large contracts Maritz has. Easier to buy them out then wait for the sub contract to expire. Probably got a deal. They've already taken back the gas client and the hardware client from Maritz and the shipping client from Bare.

Doesn't matter much to me. I'm already dropping the one shop I used to do for Maritz because of the new reveal.

I just got the email from Ipsos saying that Maritz is joining with Ipsos. I sure hope those sweet ladies in Kansas stay on.
With Maritz I have some serious routes. It's going to stink when the full transition takes place.
When Maritz had the green / white gas shops I did a route of 90 stores. They always gave me a 7 week window. Now that ipsos has been doing them for the past year, the best choice I have for a route is grab some and the typical less than a week window.
All I know is that I like Maritz just the way it fricken is. I also know this, I can't say I like Ipsos the same way.

Some of them worked really hard. I know they all probably worked hard but a handful of them simply seemed exceptionally dedicated. I hope they are being looked out for by the company.
*grumbling obscenities* no self assign, grumble, no routes, grumble, no bonuses, grumble *bursts into tears, screams maniacally and kicks puppy*

RELAX! I didn't kick a puppy. Couldn't find one.

Yeah Ipsos schedulers, or most, difficult to get a route because they are too busy not returning emails. I don’t get the problem with the lack of self assigning with them. Makes no sense if you have good reviews. Thanks

the most annoying is that either they never respond to emails, or respond after a day or longer. What a difference with Maritz and GFK. Or you will just get an email that the shop was rejected after a week and they never give you the opportunity to fix it if the problem was a photo, or something tiny.
